Thumbs up Lotus Exige Cup 260 Wheels (Team Dynamics 1.4) Information

I know a lot of Lotus owners are interested in the wheels that are used on the Cup 260 car. They are made by Team Dynamics and come in 16x7 and 17x8 in size. The color on the Cup 260 car is a gun metal/anthracite color. If you were to purchase the wheels seperate they are only available in semi-gloss black and silver. Most all of this information is already well known and out there, but the main purpose behind this thread is to inform everyone of the actual true weight of the wheels.

Black:

I purchased a brand new set and decided to weigh them for sake of interest. The scale I used is accurate up to .01oz so this is as accurate as it is going to get. Each was weighed without the center caps since the stock center caps will more than likely be replaced with Lotus center caps.

The weight of the front wheels is 12lbs 13.1oz each.
The weight of the rear wheels is 17lbs 9.3oz each.

I hope this settles the wight of these wheels once and for all.

Enjoy!

I still love the regular Cup wheels (the 240 Cup)...

I'd love to find an alternative to those...

Thank you TTZip

Your findings are much closer to Team Dynamics claim (11.8 front and 16.5 lbs rear) than Sector 111's chart (13.3 front and 18 lbs rear ).

Hopefully your efforts will help clear up any misunderstanding the Sector 111 chart has produced.

This also helps confirm that these rims (aka Ultralights) by Team Dynamics (which are on the 2009 Sport & CUP 260's) are lighter than the former 5-Spoke Lotus Sport Cup wheels and the 2010 Cup 260 wheels.

Not really, TD wheels =60.06lbs, 5-spoke cup (according to sector 111's heavy reading scale) =59.6

I don't know who made that chart or what they used to weigh these wheels but it seems like none of their weights are accurate.

The 5-spoke 240 Cup wheels weight 13.4 lbs front and 17.5 lbs rear. That would be 61.8 lbs total.

There used to be an actual chart Lotus Sport published that had this however I can't find it any more. Anyone know where this is? I was able to find the exact same weight published (in metric though) on this chart by SELOC...
S2 Wheel Options - SELOC TechWiki look near the bottom.

No 2 wheels weigh exactly the same, different batches can have variations of +/- 1.5 lbs per wheel!
