What does 'double adjustable' mean to someone who does not track their lotus and has no ability to tune a race damper?
My guess is endless adjustments and tweaks until you are so lost and confused you revert back to your stock setup. Am I correct? ![]() Quote:

Double adjustable means that compression (shock going in) and rebound (shock going out) are separately adjustable. Single adjustable shocks adjust both at the same time and are easier to work with. IMHO, Penskes would be a waste of money on a car that is not tracked aggressively. You could get single adjustable Nitrons, Ohlins or others for less money and still have a quality package.

Great, now I will have an extra grand to waste on something else. Thanks!
I am leaning towards the Nitron's with the stiffer springs from S111. Quote:

I've been having a little fun adjusting my double adjustable shocks. But, it seems like it's about 4x the work getting it dialed in properly (which I haven't completed yet.) Because you have to test each matching set of compression and rebound settings. I think it is fun to do this. But, if the idea of this makes you cringe, then i would suggest getting a set of single adjustable.

I believe Ohlins now has a 3 way adjustable (hi and low speed compression) just to make this decision even more complicated for everyone.

Hello Jamie-
How is the 46MM Ohlins set up treating you? Apologies if there is an update on another thread. I have previously driven an Exige with the "standard Ohlins product and was duly impressed. My "Track Pack" Bilsteins are not terribly satisfying on a lot of levels. I am quite interested in the more robust 46MM platform. It appears you are one of the few who have adopted this set up. Greatly appreciate your comments. THX Alan

Is the ohlin suspension that was offered by Sector 111 and is offered by Forcedfed the same kit as the lotus sport ohlin upgrade offered by lotus (not the cup car suspension but the upgrade for the elise and exige models)? thanks to anyone who can help answer this for me.

As I recall, I think Jack said they were different on another thread. I noticed because I am considering going with the factory Ohlins. Do some searching on this exact topic, as I think someone else expressed an opinion of having drive the factory Ohlins vs an aftermarket Ohlins and liked the factory better. Please remember however, that some of that might be setup.
I can almost guarantee that if there is a difference, a lot will be in spring rate, due to Lotus tuning philosophy.

Don is correct.... spring rates may be similar to aftermarket Ohlin offerings (Lotus -- 325/425), but I was told that the shock valving is proprietary to Lotus. The Lotus Ohlin D/A setup was optimized to work with Yoko LTS 048's.

As for warranty, it shouldn't affect it as a general matter.....obviously your shocks/springs and any suspension failure/issue that can be attributed to the aftermarket coil overs (or their installation) wouldn't be covered. |

Do any Sport Elise owners out there have the part numbers for the Ohlins that are on their cars?
