Your stock RS14s are going to make noise. Switch to RS4-2 for a more friendly solution. They don;t stop with the same sense of urgency BUT they will be much quieter.

We have them in stock.

Check out some of our posts about the Ferodo 2500 pads we have. I am unaware of any complaints so far from any Lotus owner.

These squeek as well. We ran them on our Exige. Can't get around the noise if you want pads that stop on track.

The RS4-2 doesn't squeal much less than the RS14 in my experience.

I'm with ZTEC... Really good brake pads are probably going to squeal.

I have had somebody actually ask me what was wrong with my brakes. So I took him for a ride and showed him.

I didn't write they did not squeak or squeal but rather I have received no complaints from any user to date. (And we have been using Ferodo seemingly forever.) What I was alluding to was that Ferodo 2500s are a wise choice for street performance and can also be used as a light duty track pad. I have no issue with Pagid Blues.

Not really a fix but I just try and keep them clean / spray them down with water. It helps...

My Ferodo 2500s do not squeak nor squeal at all, ever. You might be confused with the Ferodo 3000 (or is it 3500) which are more aggressive.

Not confused. We ran the 2500 3 yrs ago on our Exige before we upgraded to the AP BBK. They are good pads. Just want folks to be aware that any performance pad can make noise. This is the bane of every brake engineer the world over.

I thought I already posted a reply to this, perhaps someone has a similar thread. My original stock 240 pads (just finished them off at a HPDE yesterday) never* squeeked. I broke them in per procedures when they were new.

*Because this was questioned in other threads, "never" = when hot, when cold, when raining, street driving, track events in both dry and rain (also includes both solo and back to back driving sessions with my wife and I sharing the same car), 30deg days, 105deg days, or during full and half moons. Not sure about high tide or during El Niño.

Edit: I found that other thread

Might sound crazy but there was an Exige that was delivered in the states with the brake pads installed backwards How excessive is your brake squeal? Mine is still quite noisy with 11k miles on them.

Unfortunately I do have a slight squeal with the Ferodo 2500 pads. I suspect it is a general problem with the four pot AP upgraded brakes on the Exige rather than a problem with the pads.

That being said, the 2500's are a wonderful upgrade over the stock pads. The dynamic range, pressing hard to soft, is much better than stock and yet the brakes bite and do not fade.

Pads are the core attribute of squeals at contact with the rotor.

Calipers and number of pistons have little to no reflection.

IE - You don't see AMG or Porsche BBKs making any noise on a street spec car. Because they utilize very low temperature street pads.
