Toyo R1R

I did a search and pulled up blanks....I found these in slightly oversize (205 front, 235 rear) and they seem like a good alternative, R compound tire.

Anyone know anything, use anything...something I'm missing?

I thought those tires were not as good as the T1s that it replaced? I really like the RA-1's I use but the shop I get my tires from never had much good to say about the R1R's

I posted some pics of them on my car here.

After a year with them, I have been fairly happy. But, next time around I will like go to the 888s or back to the Yokos. The R1Rs are plenty sticky, but when pushed to the limit they just don't hold like those. However, the price is nice and the look is still aggressive.

I've got a set that I bought about 2 months ago. I like them, though they are probably not quite as good as the Kumho XS tires (I also had a set of those which are cheaper to boot). I have a 205 and 245 setup. Comparing the R1R to the R888 isn't fair considering the R1R are a "street" tires (tw of 140) whereas the R888 are a "race" tire.

If it were my money and I was buying street tires, I'd buy the XS tires. Unfortunately for me, the fronts where on national backorder when I was buying a couple months ago.

I absolutely love mine on the street and in the rain.. Great tire and unless something bigger and better comes out I will be getting them again.
