true S weight

Brian brought his scales over and we corner balanced his and my car. My car weights 2023 with 9/10ths of a tank and a 2bular (17lb.s vs. 32 )and a PC680 (14lb vs. 27.) the car has track pack and touring so stock weight is 2051lb. Jack has picts we dialed both cars in to a perfect 50% cross weight. My car ride height is 118F and 122R loaded. time consuming about, 3 hrs per car not counting alignment but fun. carl

Well, mine has track pack and touring, but not LSD, and the shipping weight was listed as 2011. I'm assuming that's with an almost full tank?

I heard sometime back that the LSD weighed in at around 35 lbs, but have yet to see any real proof. But.. if it does weigh about that, it would seem confirm your numbers and mine. Still kind of guessing on my end tho.

If mine really does come in at 2011, then just by replacing the exhaust should put me back in the sub-2000 lb category!

Carl, your car and mine are configured the same except for the exhaust, battery and LSD. So i guess it's safe to say we're at the same weight. I'd still like to weigh mine anyway with some accuracy.

Where can I go to get an accurate measurement?

Dan,
LSD weighs a few pounds (3 to 5 lbs, IIRC).

We use race car scales some alignment shops have them. the 50% cross weight is with me in the car when we started we were 105lb off when we were done it was 3LB. ride height when finished with me in the car LF 118 RF 118.4 LR 122.2 RR 124.1 this is the same as when we started. ride height and corner balence gets real tricky and takes a lot of time.. you can have the cross weights dialed wind up with the ride height off buy up to 1/2".

You can go see Tom at Lucentmotor.com, he did mine - think he sets up Jack's cars too.

My car just got corner balanced and weighed:

2068

396 F/L 398 F/R
635 R/L 639 R/R

So...I've got the whole stereo in there with the porky amp, head unit, sub, speakers - wonder how much that weighs. Then the supercharger, water/air core charger, piping, methanol 1 gallon tank, additional oil cooler and fan, gauges, etc. Also have the larger PC925 battery (PC680 was not enough)...so guess it's not too fatty. Car feels great, really wonder what a 100lbs would do for it, it already scoots pretty well

The OEM open diff and OEM torsen LSD weighs about the same. The LSD might be 5 lbs more at most. I did not actual compare them on a scale when I did the installation. But I did pick them up with my hands. I still have the OEM open diff in the garage somewhere. I can weight it if anyone wants to know.

Just weighed the Elise dripping full of fuel - with supercharger, no top, no luggage and empty trunk:
LF 379 RF 380 LR 576 RR 573 Total 1908

Same config, bone dry - right after she stalled and wouldn't restart:
LF 370 RF 368 LR 553 RR 548 Total 1839

That's 69 lbs. of fuel from overflow to no go.

At the track of course I'll have to add me (188 lbs.) and about 5 lbs. of clothes, helmet, data logging, camera... for a maximum of 2101 lbs.

For my end of year drag "let's see what she'll do" visit I'm guestimating 1839 + 13 gas (2 gal) + 11 top + 188 me + 5 stuff = 2056 lbs - My ultimate goal is to get to the 1999 lb. at the line. Of course if I'm THAT close to 11.999 (12.0's or 12.1's) with my 225-228whp (corrected - add 4% for cold weather) then I may lose the undertray, diffuser, passenger seat, mats and footrest for a further loss of 38 lbs... but then again I'm nuts...

mine stock was 2060 almost full tank. I replaced my ~33lb exhaust with an 8 lb 2B. Next is 4.5 lb battery...

Eventually I'm hoping to get down to at most 1950 lbs. If I can get to 1900 ...bonus, but I doubt it.

Yeah I've been trying to see what I can dump out...I guess the radio, sub, speakers and amp? But, I like those things lol. When the time comes to strip and rollcage then sure, lots to throw out, but for now I like my (poor excuses) of comfort.
