Tyres for Series 1 Elise

The rear tyres on my Series one are down to the wear bars and I need to replace them. I talked to Al McQueen and Dave Minter at the Elise Experience in Chicago last week and they suggested Yokohama Neova's but Yokohama is not importing the 205x50-16's into the USA (The Fed Elise takes larger tyres.) Anyone have any suggestions on obtaining a set from the UK or another tyre that might work well. I hate to buy another set of Pirelli's as they don't have enough grip...Dave

The Advan Neova's for the S1 come in 195/50R15 front and 225/45R16 rear.

Lotus has moved away from the original 185/55R15 and 205/50R16 spec on the S1 elise. The Pirelli Pzero's are also discontinued in these sizes, so no longer available (and if you can sitll get them they have been on the shelf for years and no good anyway)

You should be able to get BFGoodridge G-force Profiler tires in 195 front and 225 rear. These are getting very good reviews here in Europe.

Just make sure you do *not* get the BFGoodridge Profiler-G tires, because those are very different and total garbage on an Elise. (whichever marketroid thought up these names should be shot right now..)

Bye, Arno.

I believe that Lotus USA is supplying A048's in the proper sizes for the S1 - give them a call.
