What makes it difficult? Just curious. Difficult for a professional as well?

Nicely done on the door sills. If sweetdaddyd can sell a kit for that. I might try doing that. Did you have to remove the side intakes while the vinyl was put on or was'nt needed. Might be answered with a close-up pic.
Are you planning a black fiberglass spoiler?

Wow - That does look nice!

I love the black on the door sills.

You're right - they should come from the factory like that!

Now - tell me again - where do you get the Jason D tail lights done?

Very nice! I love the black door sills. Good work.

Only think I could see to improve would be the addition of a CF front spoiler to match your CF rear diffuser. Otherwise, looks fantastic.

Some of us might want to buy the film from Sweet DaddyD also. I already have a couple of "jack here" arrows on my car.

Thanks,

Joe

It looks okay with the door closed, but it could be better. Sweet Daddy D - I think those pieces were about 56" long, and about 3" wide. Can you PM me about sending me some that are say, 56" long by 4 1/2" wide so I can take it back and have it redone perfectly.

I will try to get some photos with door open so everyone can see what I am talking about.

Suffice it say, perfect or not, I LOVE the look. Several people who saw it in person said "thats the way they should come from the factory."

Tim, no problem.

Okay - got some photos. What I wanted was exactly what got done along the scoops, but I wanted the film to cover the whole horizontal door recess all the way from the rear by the scoop to the front, by the black aluminum clip. I'm getting more and wider film from Sweet Daddy D, so I will take it back and have them redo it. It looks fine when the door is closed, but less good when open. The net result if it was done they way I asked, would be a tiny bit more black as you move foward towards the bottom front of the door.

I did not do the install, but as I understand it, there were two challenges. First, the film was about 3" wide, which should work, but the film is not very "bendable" to match the curvy Elise. I you imagine trying to cut a piece of 1/4" plywood to fit, it would need to be wider than the average depth just from measuring in one place. The installer did make a template (but he was hoping to have more "flex" in the film), and so I am likely to back to him as he can now measure where he needs to add more film (towards the front of the door opening and the second time around should be perfect.

I can ask once he gets it right, if he'd be willing to make up sets for sale, if anyone is interested. We'll just call it the Taylor Swoosh.

As you can see, the top is done too (perfectly, I might add). Also, the same installer did replacement film on my rockers, which I also got from SweetDaddyD. This film is EXCELLENT, and the installer did a GREAT job. THose are two year old rockers, with tons of track days, that looked beat to shxt before this new film. I highly recommend the Starshield replacement SweetDAddy D sells. One final note I forgot ... installer did NOT remove scoops.

Hopefully, this helps.

How about doing the same thing to the small side grills on the front clam?

Did you ask SweetDaddyD to deliver film to you already cut to the right size & shape? Would it be better to make the film a little thinner to facilitate the installation?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe -

I did not ask SweetDaddyD if he would be willing to develop (or to get developed) a template so he could sell a complete kit but it would be great if he could/would.

Keith?

As for pliability of film, the film is pretty thin (thinner than Starshield) it's just not too stretchable.

Got the lights done at Car Nutz, in Bellevue, WA. Talk to Jim Pan. They do tail light painting once a week. Not the cheapest place but very high quality.

in the rear lights, the two inner lights in the center they have the clear plastic so that when reverse is on they light white. however, in the outer lights, where the turn signals are, they have yellow plastic in the center..

since you are saying they arestock though, i guess they come different in the US
