Big Frustrations With Painting
I'm trying to paint my center console, a/c surround, and engine covers. I need help.
My problem: To make a VERY long and painful story short, my problem is that the paint color (CO) isn't deep enough. When I spray on the base coat (tower paint brand) it's a lighter orange than I need. Almost like it's watered down? Doing another coat doesn't change the color. I know it's the right color because when I spray it on something else, like the cap of the spray can, it turns out right. Why would it be doing this? I used a primer that Lowe's suggested for plastics. Anyone else had this problem? Did I not let it dry long enough? (it said fast drying...I waited about 10-15 minutes) Or am I using the wrong type of primer? Or something else? I sanded the pieces pretty good and shook the can for a while.
