Blending the rear?
Hi
I`m in the process of repainting the Elise and i`ll be blending the front bumper and clamp together like the exige. I was checking out the rear body gap, would there be any reason not to blend the rear light panel to the rear clam? The light peice can`t be taken off the clam anyway right? I think this would make for a very clean look with no front or rear body gaps What do you think?

blending rear tail light vents is difficult...
I removed the rear tail light grills and tried to plug the holes. It was difficult working inside the opening, filling the hole and getting a nice curve. It is easy to understand why some have decided to fill the void completely. It is very(!) difficult to get the compound curve to look nice with a gloss paint.
The seam is under the lip of the rear spoiler and so does not show. The seam on the sides can be filled easily. The seam goes through the tail light grill opening... See my efforts on sandsmuseum.com, Michael |
