Newman- just makes sure he gives you cast vinyl. If you get calendared sign vinyl your installation will be twice as difficult. I wouldn't even try it with regular vinyl but then again I rarely even stock anything non high perf. since I don't like working with it and am generally doing car stuff anyway.

Yeah, I wasn't sure the exact %, but the point was that it would evaporate out well before it did any corrosive damage.

Vinyl is vinyl.

CF look vinyl is not CF...

Too poser-y for me.

(Though I'd did consider having some cf covers made...)

Wrong.

Certain ones won't work at all for this, and some will work fine. I'd use Oracal 851 or 951 but that's just me.

There are different CF vinyls too. From the ultra sh!tty looking printed crap, to the stuff that actually looks real. The later costs about 10 times more, and won't work in this application anyway.

Even if it was just an aesthetic cover, the only way anything that looks like CF is going on my car is if it really is carbon fiber.

Those ridges are functional foot traction pads and that vinyl would wear out quickly I would think, they are meant to be used for foot traction when getting out of the car, I use them every time I get out of my car, right foot pushes off of the ridges as I lift out to exit.....

Could you make an alum. cover that fits in the channels allowing you a flat surface for the vinyl? Just thinkin' out loud, might make for a better result visually and make for an easier install.

I'm in the bare alum. camp.

We must have different methods of egress. Maybe I'll see how a few other people get in/out.

At least we have an exit strategy...

I enjoyed the raw nature of my first Elise, and am now equally enjoying the plusher ride of my second car.

Sorry Todd, but that center console looks like a purse with that strap on it!

Agreed! It's a good thing it's on the passenger side. And... that [nut] cup holder slides in and under the dash, thank goodness.

Pfff... I like it. Perfect way to enhance the spartan setting of the 'Lis with some metrosexual plush details. Car should have been Aspen / Ice White tho, or even Moonstone Silver. *hide*

Don't care much for the strap, but the rest of the interior is great.

INSTALLED!

Was kind of a pain in the butt. Had to apply it dry, because the contour of the floor made it impossible to squeeze out misted water.

I think it looks awesome, still have to see about installing a little graphic. Also wrapped the center gusset, which isn't a gusset at all and is only held in place by 4 plastic tabs... Go figure.
