Ever wanted an additional 1/2"...
...of rearward seat travel? This is a no-cost mod that allows the seat rails to move one additional "cog" (~1/2"). I did this on my '05 (non-ProBax) seat:
1. Remove rearward 3/8" of both seat bracket bases and shape the rear edge of the side plates to match the slope of the seatback (first picture). You'll also need to cut the right-side bracket base @ ~45 degrees to clear the console storage piece (similar to the rail). 2. Notch rear end of travelling seat rails that contact the rail-stops 1/2". Remove the "points" above the notch @ ~45 degrees to clear rear bulkhead (second picture). 3. You're done! ![]() Every little bit helps ![]() |

OK, Now tell me how to get more headroom. I'm 6'3" and the leg room seams fine but I'm long bodied I guess. I need the seat lower. My new to me 2006 Elise will be to me on Saturday and as soon as I get the inspection done I will have to remove the sun visors and maybe rear view mirror to see out the windshield better.
Mike Great looking mod! |
