Existing orders being shipped out tomorrow, for anyone interested, a couple of more kits will be ready in a few days.
Cheers,

Rhino Lining?

Well, after following and commenting in this thread, i just scrapped mine for the first time.

How about a thin coat of Rhino Lining (truck bed protection) They actually now spray this stuff on much more than truck beds. I think it would be a great thing to have under the clam, as long as its not too expensive, and they dont get it on anything else.

You dont want something too thick, hard, or protective. Those forces, or the road itself, that would normally just rip out chunks of fiberglass, have to go somewhere. Better to get scraped than to have a crack at some mounting point or other stress fracture.

Respectfully, I have had the underside of the clam scraped a number of times in the couple of years since installing these protectors and they have served their intended purpose very well without any damage transmitted to the clam.
Cheers,
Michael

TheViper, I didnt mean to imply the last part of my message to you. I was just speaking in general terms. After having just banged mine, It makes a bit of sense to have 'some' give somewhere, thats all. I actually was the one to comment favorably on your design v/s the OP design. I might even get me some, how much are they, and how thick are they?

Another option? The rock guards as seen here. Cut of course to fit the clam... are they strong enough? Where can one obtain this material?

No problem They are $75 the set or an additional $5 with the front bumper added and 3/16" thick.
Cheers,
Michael
