Front end collision = cool modified clam!

Somebody bumped into the front of my parked Elise a month or so ago and caused minor clam damage. The hit-and-run incident, although not appreciated, turned out to be a boon. I was able to remove the license plate plinth and fill-in the gap that stretches the breadth of the Elise front clam.
This is how the car should have come originally. The end result speaks for itself.

Looks great. I already got rid of the license plate block but the filled gap looks awesome.

Added to list o' stuff to do.

Keith,
This is the car I was talking to you about making a clear bra for. What was the price you quoted me for a mono-bra (not the standard two-piece)? I also need the center panel that runs between the access panels incorporated.

Ahh, I've talked to a couple people about it recently. I'll have to search e-mail to see what price I gave....
I'll PM you when I find it....

Much improved look. What a way to save money on replacement clam also - smart.

That looks great - your right, that is exactly how it should have been made. The lines are consistent with existing lines and don't scream as if it has been modified.

Not sure the factory follows that rule.

That's because they are baking and curing the paint appropriately.
