That's great- interested in the cost to cover the access panels. Also planning to replace the very front nose section.

Not sure if that is what edaddy had in mind but want to find out what the black version of the rocker panels would go for. Have left mine taped up for a few months and it's kind of grown on me.

Carnut- think heat helps to pull the old ones off.

Haven't there been reports of the paint pulling off with the starshield?

The old starshield is not hard to remove. Take your fingernail, pick a corner, and start peeling it off. It will not mess up the paint if the car was properly prepped before painting, and the paint properly cured before installing it. As SS is installed at the port and not at the factory, you SHOULD be ok. I can make no guarantees for Lotus though on how they prepped the surface and how much cure time your car had before the SS was applied. I have removed some from my Lotus, and also from a couple Audi's with no problems.

For those asking for pictures, here is a black Vette done with the Bumper, lower rocker panel, and headlights done.

Here is an SLR with the front, etc done.

And a 911 Turbo with the full front bumper and headlights done

SweetDaddy,

This sounds like a great product!

Just would like to confirm the price for a full kit. That would cover the front, headlights, mirrors, side sills and rear quarter panels, correct? Or does SS cover anything else? I don't have SS on my car, and would like to gain the protection.

Also, I may have missed this elsewhere, but how much do you charge for a set of stripes? I'm interested in the Scuderia style stripes someone else here was putting on their Exige recently. I'm thinking of matte or satin black stripes that would be similar to the black plastic pieces on the 06 Exige, with the small accent/trim stripes.

Thanks!!

Access Panels: Retail $129.99. Your cost. $90. Shipped free to Feb. 15.

By Front nose section I think you mean the area below the seam between the headlights downward. Retail is $289.99. You will get it for $189 shipped free before Feb. 15.

I do not have pricing on the black versions yet. The product i have been working with has a much more aggressive adhesive than than the clear PPF.

So, who is signing up for the group buy of the rockers?
(those of you that have jilted me on a payment before will not be counted unless money is in my account or mailbox- so far all present company is excepted. lol)

Like I said, I can supply these for ANY car you want.
My product was good enough for Audi to put on their fleet of R8's at the Petit Lemans, they should be good enough for you.

Obviously the first pic is the beginning of installation, just to show I'm not just posting pictures of cars.

Stripes depends on what you want. Color(s) width, etc. I will send PM to keep this thread on PPF.

SDD:

I will be ordering this bit ($189, right?) from you by your 15 Feb deadline:

Also, my current coverage includes a little rectangle over the front license plate mount area. Will you included this piece? If you can't get this piece, maybe I'll contract you to do a little Union Jack or a decal of my screen name or something...

Your recipe on the solution and procedure outlined above has given me the confidence to cancel my appt for professional installation. (Don't worry, I won't hold you liable when I mess it up )

The solution that is sprayed on the adhesive side - does the addition of a couple drops of dish soap allow it to be positioned once in contact with the prep'd surface? I would imagine that there will be a fair amount of stretching and heating that my be required with this piece.

Whoever gets their kit first needs to document the installation with photos and create a little tutorial!

- Allen.

The spraying of soap and water allows you to reposition it before using the squeegee to get it to set. There is not as much stretching as you might think, only to get it to be smooth.

Thanks for the input, Matt, but geesh...you might need to work on the etiquette a bit...

- Allen.

Just want to "inform" the people in this thread since SweetDaddyD decided to "inform" people in my thread and did not remove his posts when nicely asked to...

I will not be posting in his thread any longer, I have too much class for that.

Matt:

Looks like I need to work on my comprehensive l-talk post reading. Didn't recognize this as a "tit for tat".

There is no need for vendors to take stabs at each other. Be proffesional..
