oh it is not. It is a huge block of aluminium. The pedals are not art either!!!

If you really like the lotus hinge, then you would certianly appreciate the lambo door conversion hinge.

Anyways, sign me up for the lambo doors too!
I actually get asked that a lot. "how do the doors open?" "do they open up?"

Hey, Hello Kitty... have you ever posted a picture of your '06 Exige? We'd love to see it!

Can someone take a picture of their car with Lambo Doors and then post it in the Epic Fail thread?

Lambo on a convertible?

Lambo doors on a convertible seems kind of silly. Even on a hard top convertible the idea is rather absurd. From a practical standpoint, there really is not much to grab onto to close a lambo door on an Elise when the door is open in the vertical position.

In short, a nice idea but not for an Elise.

IMO it looks good on the elise/exige, but as mentioned before, they are heavy, and build quality on ones ive seen are mediocre at best

if you get the whole "ricer" concept of it out of the way i think it works for the elise/exige

can you guys clear something up for me...

to do the lambo door conversion, you have to change the hinge completely out, but isn't the arm of the hinge permanently attached to the door beam? that's the impression i got from the shop manual and parts list... am i just reading it wrong? how would one go about separating the two? i'm tinkering with an idea and it too would require separating the 'hinge arm' from the door beam.

thanks

ive sold and installed these scissor doors before, but not on a Lotus

from my experience the entire OEM door hinge has to come off and be replaced by the heavier scissor door hinge, hardest part is getting the door to line up and shut/open properly

I figured that much, but what I'm trying to figure out is if the door beam has to be replaced in order to remove the OEM hinge.
