Just had the Center Console Painted - BRG

I took apart the center console & dropped it off at an auto body shop. They sanded the parts down to be smooth & then re-sprayed them in BRG. They also put a flexing agent in the paint to prevent the paint from cracking over time due to the flexible plastic. I really like how the parts turned out. I also had the air conditioner surround painted.

That looks very nice. I'm back and forth over doing that to my Ardent Red/Black Elise.

Do you mind me asking how long it took and how much they charged?

Looks great. Just curious why you didn't have the plastic piece under the HVAC controls painted as well, since it needs to come out anyway.

I'm not sure. Did you have a pic of one painted - I didn't even think of that.

Thanks - I dropped it off on Tuesday & it was ready on Friday. They charged $250 for the 3 pieces.

$250 for the three pieces?
thats the center console, the piece around the air conditioning controls, and whats the third piece? that cupholder thingy in between the seats?

do you think they would work on pieces if i mail them to the place?

sector111 charges $600 for the same work so $250 is significantly less.

i would want mine ardent colored which i am sure they can do.

I just had my other car's front bumper re-sprayed for rock chips, so I'm not sure if I got a little better price because of that.

They did a good job & they had never even seen the car - Just looked up the paint code on their computer. They gave me the choice to leave the rough finish or to sand it down & have it smooth. I choose the smooth option.

The 3 pieces were :

Center Console
Air Cond Surround
Little piece in the back (Has the cig lighter in it) - I took the cig lighter out before I gave it to them. It was a little tricky & was glad I didn't break it in the process.

I thought about doing the cupholder piece (that is usually black), but decided to keep it black. Also contemplated the silver hand brake part, but wasn't sure how that would look - It kind of matches the shift knob as it is now.

I like the idea that they put the flexing agent in the paint also - I would not have thought of that if I did it myself.

PM me if you need any info.

Thanks
