Gearshift removal??

Does the ball on the gearshift just screw off?? Mine is on tight as all get out. Do I need to loosen a screw somewhere?

If there is a little hole at the front of the shift knob, a set screw locks it in. If not, then you have the old shifter, they used some removable locite on it.

Also, the Lotus trim shop beside the smooth or perforated leather has, alcantara . Almost had the shifter and hand brake done that way. But will use it in some door panels I've got on order.

I tried to have my center console wrapped in black/gray alcantara, but the trim shop recommended against it, as condensation could collect and get on the seat rails. So now reconsidering what else would look good with a red leather interior.

Going to use alcantara, in the inserts for the door panels. Tried getting it changed a few days later to the entire panel, but was too late.

Attached a shot of my center console, red for the stitching and hand brake and shift boots would work. Might want to check with the trim shop, if they are ok doing the boots in alcantara, that is kind of what I wished I’d done.

Yes, unless I misunderstood, they are okay with doing both boots in alcantara. I probably don't want the e-brake book if that's optional.

I will also look into an alcantara instrument shroud.

Thanks for the pic.

Already put my order for the instrument shroud. Briefly thought of alcantara. Was a little worried about the CA sun beating up on it. Went with perforated, like how it’ll match the pattern of the front of the dash.

I’ve got them checking into doing the very top of the dash in alcantara. They already came back and said no to doing the face in any finish (which I didn’t want anyway). If they do it, I’ll start using my “shower cap” a lot more.

Just got (and installed) my console from New England-Lotus Motorsports, it looks beautiful. Smooth black with black perforated boots and magnolia stitching. $338 with tax and shipping to CA.

Isn't it amazing ghow this little mod totally tranforms the look of the interior. It's by far has the biggest impact of any interior upgrade. Looks sharp

smiker, is all of yours perforated or just the boots. I like yours but am not sure if I should go with a full perforated set up or just the e brake boot to match the stock shifter boot. You did not have to replace the shifter boot correct, just the brake boot?

Both are perforated, here's a picture with a closer shot of the shifter. My console came with both boots, I'm not sure if I could have ordered without one. I don't see why you couldn't use your existing one, from what I remember they both use the same clips to attach to the console. I suppose there's always the chance that they won't match exactly if you don't get them at the same time.

It looks great. I did not realize it come with both boots, works for me. The console covering itself is not perforated though correct? Just the boots. I think an all black set up would suite me nicely.

Minor disappointment with the Trim Shop. Checked on my order yesterday
(3 weeks overdue) and found out that I wont be getting any perforated leather to match Mag Blue. I wanted the shift / parking brake lever boots and the egg-shaped door inserts in Mag Blue, with matching stitching. Apparently,
no one has ever made this request, and they don't / wont have a source of Mag Blue leather. I'll go with the standard dark blue, but this wont be such a great match. Oh, well. Coulda had a custom.

I love my leather covered center console. I think the Trim Shop at the factory does incredible work.

Late breaking news: Lotus Motorsports (Mass.) called the Trim Shop again, and they're going to find the closest match to Mag Blue and do my door
inserts and the boots on the console So, I might be having a slightly
customized interior afterall! Can't wait --- and THANK YOU, TRIM SHOP AND
LOTUS M'SPORTS

By the way -- great interior, Mick. I was wondering what the folks who went on the Deals Gap tour last week were talking about regarding your seats. Nice concept, nice execution, and sure looks spiffier than it did on the
first Dragon run.
