manual windows

Do the Elise and Exige have an option for manual windows??? I like to keep things basic. It just makes for less crap to break.

You can get manual windows with the Elise. Power windows are lighter.

If you don't get the Touring Package in the Elise, you get manual windows. You also get cloth seats (with leather trim) instead of the leather, bare frame sills on the side (Touring puts carpet halfway up the side), and no carpet under the seats. The Touring Package also includes a liner on the inside of the soft top - the base just has the top. The three other things that come with the Touring Package it an "upgraded" radio, the storage net on the bulkhead behind the seats, and about 13 extra pounds.

In my case, I didn't want the power windows or leather seats, I like the bare aluminum on the sides (and may people have problems with the carpet falling down anyway), so I got the car without the Touring Package.

The original Exiges didn't get power windows unless they came with the Touring Package, but the power windows became standard on all Exiges.

I miss my manual window winders... they were cool looking!

The power windows don't seem to rattle like the manual ones sometimes do.

The power windows are lighter than the standard manual windows, but if you get the Lotus Sport manual windows (like I have on my '06 Sport Elise), these are lighter than the power ones...
