Mesh grill feeler.

NEWEST, NEWEST UPDATE!!!!

I have re-designed the grills little. They extend to far the the back of the car and they rest on the seal for the boot. I cut away the extra material so it does not touch the seal and placed plugs in the four back holes. I have added a little material to the rest of the grill to prevent the edges from being seen at all for a cleaner look. Instead of using the plastic boarder along the edges to protect the paint inside the lid I am using mastic tape. It holds a lot better with higher temperature tolerances and is more easily formed to the shape of the grill. I am steering away from nuts and bolts for attachment (they are still an available option) and going to aluminum rivets. Plastic rivets also work well and they are easier to reverse than aluminum. Plastic christmas tree fasteners are also available and work pretty well. They all have a nice low profile and pretty small head diameter. I am going to do mine over again once I get done with a current order and then I will post new pics.

Engine lid grill is complete. I have an under the lid version ready now if you are interested. The price is $160 shipped. (withing the contenental US).

Current Pricing

I am thinking more around $500 now for a complete set minus side vents or $650 with side vents. As I build kits for the front, side, and radiator vents they will become available. You can get them as I build them or as a complete set when I am complete as the price will end up being the same. Here are pictures of my under the lid set just completed. PM me if your interested. If you have questions please read the thread and if it is still not answered please post and I will answer it. Thanks.

NEWEST UPDATE!!

This update covers lots of questions posed to me.

1. The mesh is aluminum so it will not rust.
2. It can be either powdercoated black or bare aluminum, your choice.
3. There are 4 mounting options. (specify which mounting option when ordering.)
---------A. Stainless steel bolts, nuts and washers.
---------B. Plastic or aluminum pop rivets (black)
---------C. Double sided tape.
---------D. Black plastic christmas tree fasteners.
4. Yes they are available now. It will take approximately 2 weeks for you to recieve them after placing order.
5. Weight savings is 1LB 11OZ from stock plastic vents.

FROM NOW UNTIL NOVEMBER 20TH 2008 I HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE FOR THE ENGINE LID GRILLS.. $130 FOR POWDERCOATED SHIPPED AND $120 FOR BARE ALUMINUM SHIPPED.
HAPPY DRIVING!!

Keep in mind that these are already available here.

BBB Motors, LLC

Bring them in lighter weight or lower cost or both.

The cost is what turned me away from BBB motors.

When you say a full set are you talking grill, hood and engine cover? Nine parts in all?

Yup. Full set. Everything needed and reversable. No mods will be needed to your car.

Well then I guess I will get to work. I am thinking that I am going to do the engine cover first. Time to go shopping.

I'd be interested at price point around or below half the one you are thinking of.

I dont know a price for sure yet. I will work on it and see what I come up with after supplies and labor for making them. It will probably be less than my initial estimate. I will start working on the engine deck first and I will post pics as I make progress. Should be within the next week for me to start. I figure about a month or 2 and I will have a finished product and a set price.

I would be interested pending price but more importantly don't want it installed with tape. Should mechanically attached using stock locations so it can be reversed. PM me when its ready.

Cheers.....Phil
