I recieved more material today. For those of you that placed orders and have not gotten shipping notification from me. I am working on them and they should be shipped in the next few days. The holiday is going to delay things a bit but you can expect them next week.

As for the front grills, I am working on them as I get the time. Soon they will be done........hopefully. lol. Getting closer every day. I am hoping to be able to put an entire day into figuring them out this weekend.

Still waiting on the front 3 as well.

Is the material the small diamond mesh from customcargrills.com? I bought some of the small hex mesh, but my fabrication skills and patience aren't there.

I just got the above the radiator grills today and I am very, very impressed with the shipping. You would have thought that fine crystal was being carted. Also included were some larger plugs for the larger holes in the late 2005 and newer cars. Unfortunately my car is a 50 minute round trip away and I got out of rugby practice very late, so I'm too tired to make the trip up there tonight and try them out.

I will say that you can thank UPS for the packing. It cost me an arm and a leg too! Sorry for the future orders but unless people want to pay more for shipping I cannot afford to do that any more. Over $50 to ship out two friggen orders!!! YIKES!!

My welder is up and running so I will start working on the front center grill very soon. The military life is getting busy also so my time is getting tighter and tighter. I am thinking that when I get this done I will have to take orders only 5 sets at a time. Otherwise I will get so back logged that people might not recieve their orders for about a month. Heck, even with the current orders I have and the holiday/delayed shipping/free time, I am already not making my 2 week delivery goal. I can only imagine what will happen when I am doing a full car at a time. It will be fun though.

More to follow.......soon.

One option with the shipping, is maybe a flat box would work for the panels, something like this: Easy-Fold Mailers - Uline Uline is awesome. They sell everything from boxes and scales to urinal cakes!

Anyways... pics! Please ignore the dirty

None of the pics of the front mesh came out in the poor light that I took them in. The only one that looks remotely ok is this one and that's just to illustrate the difference from plastic to the mesh. Look how crappy that eggcrate looks!

I have not gotten to the fronts yet. SIGH...... I have been crazy busy lately and that is putting it lightly. I have all the parts and pieces here and ready to go for the front of the car so all I am wainting on now is time. I have been back from Iraq for almost 4 months now and I have been going non-stop! It feels like I just got back 2 weeks ago.

FRANKEN-LOTUS!!!!!????? I think my car looks great all mismatched... lol.

For those of you worried about using double-sided sticky tape - don't be. I had these deck lid mesh grills (templates) made nearly 3 years ago using a high pressure water jet. I mounted them temporarily using Scotch double-sided mounting tape. I never got around to permanently mounting them so they are still attached to the deck lid with tape, and are as secure as ever.

biobaggie - I love that grill pattern and the design with that boarder around the edges. Hopefully I'll run into you one of these days

I just finished fabricating and mounting mine up this weekend (design 1.0). Still need to do some cleanup around the edges and figure out how to make the mounts look better. I was thinking of hex screws to make it look a little more finished but I'm not sure.

All I have to say is Kiowapilot is doing the Lotus Lord's work. $120 is cheap in comparison to the time and energy it takes to make these yourself as a 1 off. I knew this going in but needed a project over the Christmas break.

Here is an update to all that are interested. I have been working on the front grills. I have made a few types but none of them came out looking good enough for my standard. I will continue to work on them and let you all know when I get a good product.
