I love the grillwork - amazing. Really adds an 'exotic' touch.

If you have any more of the rear grilles for the boot lid I will gladly take them off your hands. I have the fronts done and just got my side scoops from sector111 today so that is all i have left to do...

Progress??????..... Let's just say that 12-14 hour work days are kinda getting in the way. It is so frustrating because I know that once I get these done my 12 hour days are going to quickly become 16 hour days.

I have worked on them and they are getting closer but what is kicking my ass right now is getting the the perfect fit for the frame. I want it to ride within 1/16" of the body for a REALLY clean OEM look. I have a feeling that it will end up being stretched to 1/8" for ease of manufacture.

As for the lid grills, I can make you a set if you like. Just PM me and I will send payment info.

I installed the front radiator grills today. Looks good. here's my cellphone pics from in my dark garage. The install took about an hour or so, and that included me taking off the access panels for the first time, cleaning them up a little bit, and wiping down the now exposed dirty bits that the plastic grills used to cover.

The fit is good. I had to bend in the very end of the grill at the front passenger side corner, as the prongs were sticking out and rubbing against the body. It may be good to use some sort of tape all around these grills to protect the body from scratches, but they probably won't look as good then.

I installed these rear deck lid grills over the weekend. It was relatively straightforward, but a real pain to get the old adhesive off. I broke 2 of the plastic fins as I pulled them off, and one was already broken. Hours of scrubbing with goof off got the adhesive off, a clay bar helped a little bit, but I've got to figure out how to remove the scratches left behind from my original plastic pieces rubbing. I'll post pictures later... I hope someone comes up with a good front radiator inlet & oil cooler mesh soon... I've now got the top radiator and deck lid mesh from this thread and the mesh side inlets from another thread - overall it looks a lot cleaner. My plastic was old and faded...

Talking

Finally i uploaded the pic's from my installed mesh engine grills and radiator grills.
I have to give compliments to Kiowapilot: the instructions were very detailed and professional and it was carefully packaged for shipping.
Next week the mesh side vents from dgilmore will go in and then it's only the front to go...

I think that's part of what this thread was about. Any updates from the OP on front grilles, or any other good options? Some of the other kits I've seen are just too expensive, maybe I'll warm up to them.

I am looking for a good complete conversion to the grills. Very interested.

military life has gottten in the way of the grills. the farthest I have gotten is the radiator and engine grills are complete but now I am outta time and getting ready to head back to Iraq. If there is someone local I am willing to give up my design and my forming dies to to someone who wants to pick up the project. I will also teach them how it all works. post if interested.

Don't think he's local, but NCI (kmt63?) through Thomasio (RLS) makes some neat brackets, and mesh for other Elise applications.

this was one of my projects on the to do list.i have so many new parts in the works now.im not sure when i could find the time to get them done.but im willing to give it a try.i also just picked up a 4x8 sheet of the mesh i use on the scoop grills.finally found a good source for it.i plan to anodize the grills too.i think it will look a bit better than the powder coated stuff i was using.kiowapilot if you want to work with me on these.i can get some parts made.this would be much faster than having to start from scratch on them.give me a pm if you are interested.
