Just havin' fun and messin' with people's artificial sense of convention.

It just wouldn't be right for Newman to drive around a stock Lotus.

I don't necessarily agree. Aesthetics is important. I think rice is more specifically when you add something that appears to add some type of performance and actually doesn't, like a $30 muffler, a wing that looks like it was made in a pottery class, or a "hood scoop" glued on the ROOF of a car. Yes, I saw this on a Civic del sol last week. I'll post a picture for proof.

You didn't mentioned a single thing to counter my point, just 3 supporting it.

Example; Carbonfiber vinyl.

No excuse for plastering profanities on your car....I think that's crossing some sort of line.

Hrmm why am i not surprised of this coming from newman.

Dumb as hell imo.

But to each his own. While keeping in mind there are some classless people in this world. Why dont you just put FU on the other side of the car. Or maybe lick my ***** across the door.

Yes, add the lick my a$$. That would be funny!

On a lighter note, on Ebay you can get rubber/magnetic bumper stickers (not for Lotus lol) that say all kinds of crude crap. My favorite is "looking for all male gang bang".

I stick those on my friends cars constantly. They have good humor about it, which surprises me, but in a strange way disappoints me. Reactions are why such things are done . The real stickers are not edited out with # of course.

Yes Newman - your car rocks, seriously. Love the plate also.

Nothing is worse than conforming; all cars looking the same; how boring.

LOL, since the Lotus just blends in to the crowd with its boring, everyday appearance

You're saying anything aesthetic that does not add performance is rice, like adding a suede interior. I'm saying anything that appears to add performance but actually doesn't is rice.

Maybe we do agree with one another.

Close enough.

But yeah... suede interior I would consider rice...

I sort of want suede interior.

At first, it made me chuckle. But, at second look, it really is nicely done. Nice placement and angulation. It's like body art or auto body art.

With regard to the word, I'll go out on a limb here. I don't think there should be any such thing as curse words. It gives words too much power.

Suede may be rice, but fake suede (Alcantra) isn't!

Not sure.

Maybe because I am sick of the SAME conversation.

-How much did this cost
-Is this your dad's?
-What do you do to afford this?
-How fast does it go.

At least maybe now they'll call me an a$$hole and it will be funny or different or both. IDK.

At the moment, I would love to talk to people about the BMW because it's uniquely mine. There is actually something for me to talk about. I've devoted 3 years of my life to this thing and gone ever EVERY part.

All I did to my lotus, relatively speaking, is pay for it. It hold absolutely NO sentimental value to me. It could get totaled tomorrow, and as long as I got a fair amount of my investment back, I would move on and buy another one, or something else.

The lotus is just a fun car. Any schmuck who saves his pennies can buy one.

The BMW is my baby. I don't think that anyone else in the world has an RB26 swapped E30, and if they do, it sure as **** is NOTHING like mine.

You're a hopeless idealist and threadjacker, but once you get the other 6.7 billion+ people in the world to agree with you, curse words may indeed lose their power. Until then ...
