New Interior Mod using Genuine Lotus Parts

Hello all,

I've been a "lurking" member here at Elise Talk for awhile, but this will be my first post. I was reading up on the New Europa S the other day, and saw some pictures of the Luxury Trim package that Lotus is offering for it. It obviously uses the same interior components as our Elises and Exiges... and I noticed that they have heater vents with chrome rings around them. I've found a UK dealer who is willing to supply us with these vents for our cars if we'd like them. I have one on order to see if they will in fact fit. If it does, I have the OK from the dealer to pass on their info if anyone else would like to order them. I'll keep this post updated with my progress. You can look at the pics below to see what I'm talking about. Also, it seems like the Europa uses a slightly different Speedo unit... if I can confirm that the lighting is different on it, I might bite the bullet and try one to see if it would work in our cars too. Hopefully all we would have to do is switch out the overlay so it reads mph instead of kph. Again, reference the pictures to see what I mean.

UPDATE: I received the first vent and its a direct replacement. As soon as the other three come in (should be any day now... I waited a bit before posting this), I'll update with a photo of what they look like. Oh, and I'll pass on the info for the UK dealer that was nice enough to send them. For those of you looking for other pieces of this set (that chrome ring around the shift boot), the parts guy didn't seem to have any issues with sending me the parts. Maybe they will let you import some of the stock pieces from the Luxury Trim kit? From what I've been reading, this color combo is the only choice for this option... I would think they would be readily available.

UPDATE : Vents are installed, I'll be adding a picture of them in the morning. The total per vent from the UK worked out to roughly $60 shipped ($240 total). Sorta steep, it would be nice if these would find their way onto either the new Elises or Exiges. The cost would go way down buying them from a dealer here. Also, I received the ring that goes around the shift console... its NOT matte plastic like I had previously been told. It is, in fact, Brushed Aluminum. I will upload a pic of it along with the part number shortly. Total worked out to $80 shipped. From what I can see, it goes under the shift boot for attachment. Fancy piece, and totally worth the $80 dollars. It seems like it would fit without any problems, but I haven't actually installed it yet as I'm planning on buying a carbon fiber center console. Here's the order info:

Andy @ Bell and Colvill Lotus of UK
Email: lotusparts@bellandcolvillplc.co.uk

Chrome Vent Part # A124U0152F
Brushed Aluminum Shift Console Ring Part # B124U0127F

Pic 1 - Europa S Interior

Pic 2 - Console Ring on top of my console to show fitment (fits perfectly)

Pic 3 - Chrome Ringed Vents

Pic 4 - Shot of the Console Ring

Pic 5 - Driver's side Vent

As you can see by the pics, the Console Ring has three holes that the Europa shift boot attaches to... We could maybe use the Europa boot to solve that problem, I don't know though as I haven't taken off my shift console yet to see how it would attach. Otherwise, I was planning on getting some brushed aluminum trim screws, and CAREFULLY drill small holes into my new CF console to attach the ring it to. Anyone want to chime in on this?

yeah, it's pretty interesting.

What was the name of the package, King Ranch or something. It was a pretty funny name.

that looks like it would share a lot more interior pieces than just the vents.

I wonder if that leather covered top on the dash would help with the off-gassing some of us experience?

Other than the dash, a lot of the pieces won't fit. The door sills are cut down further than on the Elise/Exige, so the side sill pieces and the door panels won't fit. It's also not Toyota engined, so the center console may not be exactly the same.

The shift knob is way cool! The parts of the dash covered in leather look amazing. The vent trim adds a nice touch. It has a classic look to it. Keep us updated! ---with that set up they should have upgraded the signal/window washer pieces to the metal ones.

The funny think about this picture is that absolutly doesn't lie. You can see a piece of the fabric hanging down on the passanger side door sill...and thats exactly the kind of stuff you'll get with a Lotus

I like the scuff area they put over the leather, where I typically drag my shoe across when getting into mine.

Good eye

I think it would look a lot better in black leather. Having it brown leather makes it look blotchy because the things that aren't covered, like the passenger's airbag, really stands out and makes it look unfinished. Having black leather would make everything blend together and make the interior look expensive - and I'm sure it would be ...
