New upholstery for tall person's seat

I replaced the plain upholstery on the Sector111 Tall Person's Seats with some custom upholstery that has a script Elise on the headrest (thanks to Michael Sands for the .pdf file) and had a twisty yellow road design put onto the seat (photos attached).

The work was done by King Kovers in Fremont, CA. They also helped with the design.

Enjoy those twisty road seats.
Isn't that the S1 Elise font?

Looks great, those seats are a good fit for me... too bad they aren't readily available.

I may need to get some of these seats.

No for a few questions

How tall are you and what is your inseam? I am 6' with a 29" inseam which makes my torso about the same as someone that is 6'5" with normal legs

Can you fit in the car with the soft top or hard top and a helmet?

Cheers,

Patrick

I imagine you could get similar headroom out of a reverie CF seat (without padding on the bottom), but you would also have to accept a slightly more reclined driving position. Don't know how much more headroom you heed to clear with a helmet.

That thread also reminds me of the lightnsight fiasco.

Hello J,

Thanks for that.

I need more than the reverie will give me, or I need to recline it even more.

I need about 1.5-2" more (than stock) to fit with a helmet on

Chococar,

Is this the place:

King Kovers at Fremont CA

Fremont, CA 94538 USA
510-659-9090 ?

May I ask how much and how long was the turnaround time?

Thanks.

Hi Spider,

Yes, that's the place. The owner's name is Lani.

They said that it would take 2-3 days, but I went out of town on a business trip for a week, so I just left my car with them and it was done when I returned.

It was ~$900 altogether.

Which seat rails did you use? Did you have to have them custom made?

Yes, I had seat rails custom made. But I think Sector111 is getting more serious about offering a complete solution. Check with Neil (aka The Stig).
