OK to wax over the StarShield?

Sorry if already covered in another thread (I'm sure it us but can't find). I was about to apply some Smartwax (the pink stuff) to my 07 Exige and realized I didn't know if I should apply it over the StarShield too, or avoid it. Sorry for stupid question, thanks for any feedback.

Yes, in fact, proper care of the product requires waxing. It provides a barrier of protection to the coating just as it does to paint.

You can wax over the starshield. You may have to pick the wax out around the edges with a toolpick, etc.

a soft toothbrush should do the trick and be quicker. You're gonna have wax caked along the edge.

Not to sell there product but I used the Adams Clear Polish & Clear Spray.
I have been impressed with how well it works.

Definitely wax the starshield. To prevent wax build-up along the starshield edges, use 3M blue painter's tape to cover the starshield edge before waxing. This way, the wax build-up will stick out without an edge to press-up against once the tape is removed during wax removal.

Unfortunately, I've found the only way to get it done is to use your hand, a microfiber towel, and some Meguire's clear plastic cleaner. Toothbrushes scratch the starshield too easily and are inconsistent in their movement.

Zaino also works fine over the starshield. I've found it very easy to apply and take off.

Thanks for the pro advice, but can you please clarify how the tape is applied? If it goes along the edge, then there will be an "unwaxed band" around the perimeter. I'm sure I just don't understand your technique correctly, especially when you add that tedious hand-removal is needed ---- even with the tape? Thanks.
