Edit:

B71 Old English White is available for 111R's in England/Europe/Japan/Australia/etc..

I think if you go with the paint code to your dealer they could order it, but make sure you can live with that off-white color.

Would be nice to see what the actual colors look like.

Maybe you can even ask for the Pearl White, after all they do make Laser Blue even if it's not an option and the did offer CO after a lot of demand

Thanks Miguel!

Biobaggie took a factory tour and posted the baking time and temperatures for the paint. This might be useful if you want to paint a part and bake it as well (such as the center console).

http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...532#post135532

The painting process accounts for one-fourth of the total build time i.e. 26.5 man hours. In summary the paint process is:

Primer – 110 - 140 microns, 2 coats baked at 80 deg C for 40 mins
Paint – 20 - 25 microns, 2 coats baked at 80 deg C for 80 mins
Lacquer (inc. metallic for lifestyle colors) – 50 – 70 microns, 2 coats baked at 80 deg C for 40 mins.

8 – 10 litres of paint are used per car.

Thanks. I should have seen that.

I did notice that there appears to be an error on Ardent Red's Dupont code, either in the PDF file, or at two other sources I have seen. The link you had to the Espritfactfile shows Ardent Red as Dupont code P4885. The PDF file shows it a Dupont code P4485. I also checked Dupont Refinish web site and it up, and it shows P4885. So I am guessing that the PDF file is wrong for Ardent Red based on a 2 to 1 vote.

Does anyone know the paint code for the BRG that's available in Europe and Japan? I believe that it's a color used on the special edition Elise and Exige.

Check my post on the 1st page of this thread there is a pdf document with all the Lotus colors from older to newer.

The newer and most likely color is the one with the Dupont Code:
Paint Color Code: B04 British Racing Green
Dupont Code: ABK9349
Dupont Microfiche: K9349
Touch Up: D082B6146F

Here are the rest but they are paint codes for older models:

Paint Color Code: L01 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: PJ 6170Y2790 / ICI P030 2854

Paint Color Code: L45 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P030 CC43

Paint Color Code: L46 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P030 8120

Paint Color Code: L47 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P030 8461
Gold Laquer PJ 6170A3130 (Elan sprint bumpers)
Silver Laquer PJ 6170A8020 (Elan bumpers)

Paint Color Code: A42 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P4216490
Lotus Touch Up No: C082B6089J

Paint Color Code: A63 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P420NV24
Lotus Touch Up No: B082B6146S

Paint Color Code: A65 British Racing Green
Manufacturer & Code No: ICI P420GE51
Lotus Touch Up No: B082B6171S

Lotus alone has 8 BRG, and that's because out of the 11 racing greens they have, they call one Lotus Racing Green and 2 just plain Racing Green.

Not to count the other 26 Greens they have, for a total of 37

?? paint source chrome orange B25

tried to order paint from tower

the pdf lists:
Dupont code
chrome orange (base) F0262
chrome orange (pearl) HE01
Dupont microfiche F7504

the rep at tower said that the F0262 was a gold color and that HE01 was not listed at all. He also looked up the B25 code and found F7504 but said it was not yet formulated?????anyone else been able to source chrome orange paint ??

Warning on paint codes

Had some body work done and the "factory paint" was not the same paint as on my car. May just be a problem with low production hand made cars.

have fun

Just got some touch up paint from www.paintscratch.com.

They currently only have two elise colors on their website but can make any color if sent the paintcode.

I ended up getting the easy to use paint pen.

Hey!!! This is a sticky thread!!! Update!!! Update!!!

What good is having this a sticky thread if it isn't updated by the person who has the primary editing capacity?

Randy? Don't you think time has sufficiently passed for you to strikeout your ribbing of Larry and fill in the paint code?

Certainly. Let me know when you get the paint codes.

(I am not sure if the new white keeps the old paint codes, and I don't know what any of the 2006 paint codes are)

The Touch-In Sticks from Lotus are also available at www.LotusGarage.com
For now you can look at what is currently available by typing "touch in stick" into the search box. We'll have a dedicated page up for those and other accessory items very soon...

I just placed an order for some paint from this company.

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/index.htm

Prices seem reasonable in comparison to others.
