Painting shifter console... how much to pay?

I'm thinking about having the center shifter console painted to match the body color.

If I remove it, and bring it to a paint shop, how much should I expect to pay for the labor and paint involved?

Anybody here offering the service?

I don't have the facilities to do it myself, so I need to outsource it.

Thanks,

Qball

I did mine for about $20, using perfect color-match BRP paint.

oops sorry. I just used my basement, but a garage would have worked too. Or a friend's garage.

I bet somebody could make a little business out of this...

It would be easy too...

Announce a date... have everbody send you the consoles. Initial the insides of them.

Paint in batches... sand... paint...

Return.

Could make a lot of money in a short time!

Skip the Krylon. Go to a local auto paint place or towerpaint.com and get spray cans with the right color made.

They'll cover it in leather for $675. I must have underestimated the number of hours of sanding necessary to do it right...

Your local real auto paint store can load real auto paint into high quality spray cans for about 12-25 bux. All they need is the paint code!

Stan's body shop got mine (thanks Stan). You get the right paint, I'll help ya do it. Will it look as good as the guy who wet sanded, created a paint booth, etc? Maybe not quite, but close. Plenty of people have seen mine, now 6 months after I did it. And there have been pics out here.

Seriously, this is not a hard thing to do and it'll look nice. I did 4 light coats of paint, leaving it an hour to dry between coats. Then 4 light coats of spray on clear, same deal. Taking out and re-installing is not hard, either. Stan posted a guide on it. And it's neat to see the inner workings of the shifter, ebrake, etc.

I just told them what the color name was and gave them the paint code and they took it from there.
