No..I did not. I think part of the derterent is the distance between the polycarbonate and the window provided by the cups. And the Poly will spread the impact.

and as far as the other post goes...if you dont want it...dont buy it. What can I say.

Everyone makes choices in life. Buy it or dont buy it. Is this discussion really necessary?

Hello all.

Just got the first one on the car. Here are the pictures.

Please everybody, I have not tested this at speed. I suctioned it to the window after wetting the cups and cleaning the window. So far after 2 hours they are still on.

If you all are ok with me sending them out without drive testing them. It has been raining all day here and with the salt still on some roads, I am reluctant to take the Elise out.

This first picture is of the blank with the protective plastic still on. This is how I will send them out. You will have to remove the plastic and attach the cups. They press in and are a TIGHT fit.

Let me know.

Edit...for those of you that know my car...this is not it. A fellow Elise Talker called from Boston and asked me to store his Elise for 1 night. Passport dropped it off this morning. My car is on top of the lift...so I had to use his...

Are all the holes cut already? Was thinking I might like the holes for the suction cups closer to the edge. Unless it for some mechanical reason like cracking the Poly?

I have a jig set up for the holes. I could send you one without the holes drilled. Send me an email to tvacc *at* lotusowners.com

The suction cups are about 3/4 in diameter. I tried to keep them close but not that close to the edge.

Edit...I acutally could make a new jig...with the holes any other way we want. Group?

Actually I would not be able to make a shield without holes. The holes are what aligns it for the final cut.

I just looked at the shield again. the holes are about 1 inch from the edges and the cups are about .77 in diamter.

Dont know if you want to get much closer to the edge.

Looks great so far. If it's not too much trouble, closer to edge would help hide the suction cups.

I'm not worried about flutter or the holes. If the suction cups don't work out, I'm putting velcro in the same locations anyway.

They look good, Tony. I'm happy with the holes as they are. Can't wait to get mine in. It won't be long before I can drive with the top off and not need the heater on.

The holes are fine with me as they are. Whatever works best for you.
