All,

Do yourself a favor and get this or something like it before you end up having to figure out how to replace that back glass. It's a small cost to avoid a huge hassle!

For reference, SVAG charged me (my insurance company actually) for 14.4 hours of labor at $154/hr to remove the rear clam, replace the glass and replace the clam plus I've had to deal with a few other issues that resulted as side effects of this repair that I may go into in another post depending on how things turn out. It's been a nightmare.

Whilst the replacement glass costs very little, the labour cost to remove the clam in readiness for the bonding of the glass is very high. I have been quoted for at least 8 hours' labour.

If you can remove your own rear clam it will be a cheap (though time consuming) fix, but beware as a simple mistake like overtightening a bolt (and cracking the fibreglass) or damaging the clam whilst it is off or is being manouvered will also be costly.

In short, if I were you I'd buy one of these screens for track use at least. Or put some tape over the glass when tracking your car.

Cheers

Hello all.

Am finishing up these tomorrow. Packaging them up tomorrow and Friday...and then shipping.

I tested mine today at high speed. No problem. It has been on my car for the last 4 days.

If any one has not paid, you can use paypal for 3 more orders. I have not gone through the checks yet. Will do that tomorrow as well...

I have been busy too and the suction cups delayed me. I was going to finish them today..but then I started to get calls...and out I was on compute work.

And some guy bought my son's red Miata...so I had to deliver it. I know how it is.

Hope you all dont mind the slight delay.

Tony

I got my window shield today. Very nicely done!

I would advise anyone who's on the fence to snatch one up while you can.

I have 2 left. I will make more if warranted. I can ship these two right away. If I need to have another batch made...it will take about a week to 10 days

Same here. It's already in. I just moistened the suction cups first and they're holding strong.

Looks like we were all getting them yesterday.. got mine yesterday too.

It's on right now and the car's sitting in the parking lot.. lets see how it holds while sitting out in the sun.

Looks great though, couldn't tell I had anything there.

Let me know. To be honest, that is one test we did not do. My car does not sit out in the Sun very often.

I can tell you that we did drive it at well over 100. The glass has to be CLEAN. It sat in my garage for 4 days and did not come loose. One cup did break free after our LOONY breakfast. Pressed it back on and it is still on.

Mine came in yesterdays mail (or however it was delivered - it was sitting on my porch when I got home). I haven't opened it yet (was busy last night, but it's going on the car the next time it leaves the garage.

Thanks for the effort in this Tony!
