Right near the end I could see and hear a bit of vibration, and finally it dropped off last weekend while I was on my way to a meet -- which was perfect timing since I'd planned to take it off and clean it at the meet anyway . Cleaned everything, stuck it back on, no problem.

It's definitely held up better in this heat than my Garmin mount on the windshield, and that one even has a lever to increase suction.

Bump, since a broken rear window came up in another thread.

Tony, do you still have any shields available?

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I thought some of you may be interested.
I made these Polycarbonate shields for the front end.

I am interested in one of these if available. PM me if there are any still available. I just replaced the front windshield with the speedglass and would love to replace the back glass too.

This doesn't replace the rear window. It suction cup mounts to the rear window to act as a barrier to debris hitting the glass.

Yes, I do have a few of these left. I have to make them in batches of 36 so once I am out of this batch, I will wait till I get orders for 10 more before I start another batch.

Also..I make these in my garage and it is winter here in Buffalo. I would prefer to make then next batch in about 60 days.

If anybody wants one...PM me or send and email to

tony ***at*** lotusowners.com (you know how it goes....I just to avoid all the spam robots.

Edit. I forgot to post what I meant to post for the quote above. This suctions to the rear window. It does not replace the window just like post above this says. I could do a run of polycarb window but I would need a new window to CAD. I dont know the cost as I would have to have these cut on a Machine and I need to find out the best thickness.

Hi Tony,

I wish I had seen this item sooner and that I had the foresight to have ordered it. Now I have to go through the hassle of getting my rear window replaced and with a Gull wing roof and HRM no longer here I feel a bit lost. I'm ordering a new rear window from LotusGarage.com but I'm not sure about the seals or an installer.

Regards,
Jeff Kozak

Hello all...

Been real busy with my regular job and trying to get these 2 Elans out of my garage.

Tomorrow I will check on the current pricing of the poly carbonate and let you all know.

I can do another group of these in mid october. Please send me an email to

tony *at* lotusowners.com if you want to be put on the list. I will let you all know if there is updated pricing. I suspect that the cost of polycoarbonate...since it is oil based has increased in price.

Give me a few days.

How about polycarbonate rear window...?

Then the shield is superfluous.

I'd buy that, Robert

It's much, much easier to stick the shield to the rear window, rather than removing the clam and much of the interior to remove the actual window to replace it with a polycarbonate one.

I realize the pain in the a@@ factor, but I could change out the window when supercharging my Elise.

Eliseparts.com makes one for the s1.

calling s111!

I can certainly have one made. I have a window here that I was using to work on a removable unit...

All it takes is to have a pattern made...

Hello all, I will be doing another batch shortly. They will be laser cut with smoother edges. Price of Poly Carb has gone up and so has the postal shipping. New cost is $69 shipped to anywhere in the continental USA. Shipping elsewhere is extra

Please either PM me or preferrably send an email to tony *at* my website in my signature.
