Thanks for posting the pics! Glad you like them!
I got around to making a set from the new carbon fiber material so here they are, along with brushed and chrome. All of these are available and I have one set of each ready to go. If no ET'er wants them, I'll toss them up on ebay. If interested PM me. I can also put these on static material. |

Wow!
How about a Lotus Sport windshield banner that's a CF backing with Brushed for the graphic/letters??? Then CF gumballs with just Brushed track numbers to match the banner!!! Dangit! If I can't source the red stuff I want pretty soon, I'm going to give up and order something like that! xtn

It's do-able. I'm still asking my supplier about getting in a small qty of the new chrome red material I found. I think it's exactly what you want. It's just a matter of getting it. I can see their perspective though. They don't want to be stuck with a 50 yard roll of expensive material they can't sell.
If you (or I) don't get that in, your CF/brushed scheme would be no problem though. |

Here is a crappy picture of the tint film I've seen. That's pretty much the look I'm going for. In fact I think I may order a roll of the red, discard the lower dark portion (it's a "fade") and use the red chrome portin to tint the top four inches of my windshield with. Then maybe just some red chrome numbers layed over a gumball of your brushed aluminum or something like that.

If I can get my supplier to get the red chrome stuff then, you'll be happy with it. That's pretty much what it looks like. I'm sure it's less translucent than window tint. I'm curious to how tint would work. The adhesive is on the "wrong" side and the translucency is going going to darken it once it's layered over a substrate. Possibly not as much an issue if going over chrome or brushed anyway. I can see what you are going for though, and I like it.

I didn't realize window tint film had an adhesive. I thought it was just put on by applying some soapy water, squeegying out the water, and letting it all dry really well. No?
If the stuff you're getting is close enough to that tint film, perhaps I can use your stuff for the exterior and just use the tint film for the windshield header. Maybe it would be a close enough match. I'm going to order a roll of the tint film next week. Possibly I can send you some to test a small piece with. Let me know if you get a sample of your stuff.

Those one shown above can they be taken on and off pretty easily / dependably? Like if I needed a number decal for autocrossing, but wanted to take it off afterwards?
How much would something like that run for a 2 peice set (one for each side)?

The one I have on my car above removes itself easily... but not too easily so it will fly off. I just keep the backing around to store the numbers. I had a weird situation with SDD about my numbers (bought a different set on eBay, then he came out with these, so we talked about applying the purchase of the different set, which wasn't made yet, to this, blah blah, blah) so you will have to ask him about price. I am happy with the static though. I would just clean the area before you apply it. I washed my car then used Meguire's Quik Detailer where I applied the numbers.
I'm using the numbers for track days on my daily driver.

Sweetdaddy, i would like to order a set of the numbers like the one's pictured above, speciafically the "chrome" ones. Also, i would like to order a sticker for the front plate spot, the british flag one.
My next track day is Oct. 11th, about 10 days away. Do you think that you can have them shipped to me by then? thanks! |
