Could it be done in fiberglass or RIM to slash the cost?

I don't see Benetec making the wing with fiberglass. But I'm sure someone will come up with a cheaper wings soon.

Is the lid reinforcement done by buying a modified lid or does the wing come with the required hardware to reinforce the stock engine lid?

I just can't bring myself to do this. I will only do the occasional track day, and my money would better be spent on driving school. Functionally, a wing would do me no good.

It pains me as it is that the tuner car kids basically see the Elise as one of 'them.' At least around here they do. Bolting any of these wings on the car, cosmetically, just reinforces that...IMHO.

Just curious... Does the Lotus Exige wing bother you at all? I am wondering if it is the mere fact that any wing not factory installed is what's bothering you most or is it just the look?

Legitimate question.

The Exige attracts me not at all. The part over the engine/rear window looks like a hatch for some type of refrigeration unit, and again, strictly from a cosmetic point of view, a wing on this car adds nothing to it, and indeed detracts from the lines. I'll be the first to admit that aesthetics are a personal thing, somebody else might think this car SCREAMS for a wing.

Not me. I think the wing is unnecessary bling for the car.

Different matter if somebody needs/wants a functional wing because they're actually going to operate the car at speeds and under circumstances where the downforce comes into play.

I guess my tastes have changed over the years, as a kid I loved all the scoops and spoilers on cars like the Shelby Mustangs. Maybe it's that the wing is so overused on the tuner cars, but cosmetically I'll pass, whether it's a factory Exige spoiler or aftermarket job.

Until the Riceboys around here in Atlanta start driving low volume, high tech, low weight, purpose built, race proven, pedigreed European exotics, I'll never see myself as one of 'them'.

Now THAT wing I like!

Hmm.... PBracing has it on the site but no price mentioned. I'd seriously consider getting one, along with a front splitter (and side scoops, and mesh grilles, etc... ) ;-)

Shinoo or KMS.... does anyone have any contacts with PBracing?

Something tells me that this company might come in handy for the Elise owners wanting to get resonable prices. If someone tries to tell me that a wing for the Elise costs 3,000 dollars for product development, I will die.

Funny I have never heard of them. Hopefully they will export to the US. Someone needs to let them know that they need to put prices on all of their merchandise!

At the current pricing it looks like I will be waiting for the "Made in (Third world country)" copy.
