Wow, that looks nice. I like the CF wing. What's best is that it's a copy of the Exige wing! So I'll be swapping that out. So that's CF wing, CF side scoops now these guys have to make a CF Exige splitter.

Splitter and rear visibility questions

The splitter comes primed and almost ready to paint. A color guru matched the paint color. The splitter was not pre drilled but a drawing of where the bolts should go was supplied. The splitter is attached to the clam and aluminum underbody with 7 bolts and washers, supplied. The supplied bolts/washers were not SS so I replaced them with SS fasteners. The splitter was fitted, drilled and mocked up, then painted and installed. I will look through my pics and will post a picture showing the attachments to the car if available.
Jason Stirewalt, Jon Lewis and his GSM team displayed great technical skills in making sure everything fitted and was finished to their high standards.

Rear visibility; Reduced about 40%, like looking through a huge venetian blind. No impairment of side mirror rear view.

Sorry if this question has been asked already, but what was the cost of the spoiler?

Thank you,

Hear that?

That was the sound of my wallet adding lightness. Colin would be proud.

Must. have. that. wing.

By far the best looking wing available for the car. Seeing Luc's has lessened my desire to have an Exige. Haven't decided which splitter but it sounds as though this one is pretty securely mounted.

Can anyone pass comment on whether the wing ACTUALLY improves the handling of the car or just adds drag and whistling noises?

It looks great.... but then so do many things that fail to perform any useful function... breast implants for example!

I like both the wing and the splitter but have 2 questions:
1) How will you connect the wing to the chassis? How is it done on the Exige?
2) Are there any splitters available in something cheaper (and more durable)
than CF?
Thanks for the pics and write-up! Any other mods planned? I'm thinking some black RAC Monolites would look hot on that car!

I love the look, but how strong is the mounting? Is it reinforced with something? I just don't know how strong the engine cover is. I would think that if this setup generates Exige levels of downforce, won't you run the risk of cracking the lid? I could be wrong, it happens frequently. I would hate to break the lid, and lose the wing off the back at the same time.

Since this is Hyper-Sport's car I'll call Kirt today to see if they have had any problems with theirs.

1. The wing only attachs to the engine lid, but they've added four extra rubber bushings between the lid and the rear clam to stabalize the lid at speed.

2. This front splitter is made from fiberglass. Only the rear wing is carbon fiber.

Doesn't look like enough to me. They didn't even use large backing washers to spread the load at the attachment points.

Imagine having two bags of cement on top of the wing. Would that setup accurately distribute the load to the suspension?
