Schroth ASM Profi III

Is there any advantage in using the 3 inch waist strap version of the Schroth ASM instead of the Profi II(2 inch waist belt) that shinoo offers? Is it primarily a comfort issue? Fitment maybe? It is my understanding that some locations require the 3 inch. Insight anyone? I am just tired of fighting to stay in the seat in the twistys(road use). I also hope to attend some educational events after my trip to the desert and want more positive containment.

I personally wouldn't wear a two-inch harness on track - the point of harnesses is to spread out the force during a sudden deceleration, and the two inch harnesses aren't good enough at doing that.

Here's a particularly vivid example of when a 6-point two-inch harness wasn't good enough (although to be fair part of the issue was improperly used anti-sub belts):

Also, if you're really looking for driving on the street, consider a CG Lock - it works well, and doesn't compromise the function of the stock belt.

PS - BTW, the 4-point Schroth belt is designed to prevent submarining by allowing one shoulder harness to have built-in slack compared to the other during a hard front-end collision. The theory is that one shoulder will therefore move forward relative to the other, causing the torso to twist, and thereby prevent the body from sliding easily under the lap belt. While the theory is nice (and is similar to the theory behind stock shoulder belts), I'd rather have a good five or six point belt while on track.
