Seats

So I went to see Evora at the Denver dealership and for some reason sat in the new Eilse SC there and loved the seats - at least compared to my '05.

Am I correct that the 05 seats are unique that year and they were redesigned for '06 to current or were there other changes in future years?

Are they the same hadware or would there be more changes than just the seat itself? Any suggested method to see what the best/better seats are for me? I cant think of a way to 'demo' some/all the seats people talk about.

Need to get rid of these '05 seats.

Thanks for your help!

You are correct. The '06+ seats are different and better. They are easily swapped between years.

The '06+ seats have a Probax cushioning system that is more comfortable (to some, YMMV).

You do lose the lumbar pump and pad in post '05 years, if that matters to you.

I put Exige Probax seats in my '05 Elise so that I could add harnesses (built-in harness holes) and get a more comfortable seat.

No problems bolting in newer seats in the '05. Same rail system.

Regards,
Wayne

Thanks guys, this is perfect.

Is there a summary of stock/aftermarket seats available with specs, cost, reviews, etc? Seems like there are a lot out there and we would benefit from it.

I put ProBax seats from an '07 in my '05.

Excellent!

Alert your dealer/mechanic to keep an eye out for some for you.

we have the Exige looking Probax seats in our touring pack '08 Elise SC.
to us, they are unbelievably surprisingly comfortable on even 7 hour trips.

i have been curious about putting the Tillet seats in ours, but I am chicken about the chance of giving up the Probax comfortable spine position versus the unknown of the Tillets.

from what I know, the '05's dont have the Probax orthopedic technology.

to me, that Probax claim works. our legs don't cramp up and we don't get fatigued on especially long trips.

Find me a good deal on some harness seats and I will give you good deal on 06 probax in good condition. Love my current seats, but dont like having harness without cutouts.
