I tried to get the Trim shop to use that metal accent on my center console, but they absolutely wouldn't do it.

I dunno. Looks too much like the inside of a shoe to me. I'm not much of a leather fan, I guess.

You're from South Dakota... I'll let you slide...

I wonder "why" Lotus decided on Alcantara on just this little tiny piece of the Exige S interior?

The only reason I put alcantara in the car is because it's already there on the door release. In a black interior, it matches nicely.

Where are you guys getting the matching leather and how much? Do you have to have the dealer install it or does it ship to you and you slip it on?

I was told by an Alcantara rep that it will fade in intense direct sunlight. LCU didn't want to deal with fading issues.

Lotus trim shop for the console. Was around $280, not sure what the current price is. Any dealer should be able to place the order for you in whatever color combo you want.

Yea, I'm also a fan of carbon fiber for the interior pieces, if only it wasn't so expensive

I did my centre console in carbon fibre leather, the s1 gear shroud is dif to the s2 and not the easiest to cover that in c/f leather so im going for that in c/f...i've also just changed the side sills to c/f leather with thicker and denser foam and moved them back slightly, with the gear gaiter and gear shift gaiter already done its coming together nicely.

Carbon Fiber is $140 more than the leather from Blackwatch. My only question on the carbon is the fit since it isn't the factory piece. I don't want to add any rattling.

I bought a previously owned (hate to say used because it was never installed and in the original packing) carbon fiber console for $240.

I have several pictures posted in these two posts:

Nice! I always thought the seam between the halves would bug me but it looks totally acceptable in the pictures. Is it even less noticeable in the car (without the flash of a camera)? I'm guessing all of you got the Sector111 one?
