Who wants Carbon Fiber?

I stocked up on materials this morning for the weekend and picked up some new stuff. Finally was able to get my hands on a carbon fiber vinyl that actually looks good. Been waiting on this stuff to come out forever and I've had it on special order for a long time.

Let me know if you need any graphics, race numbers, etc made from it. I have Sunday off to play catch up but already have a nice pile of orders to keep me busy.

If I get all caught up and get time I'm probably going to make a set like these:

http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...75&postcount=7
replacing the diamond plate with CF, since there seems to be some interest in this style lately.

Figured I'd keep you guys on top of what's new. Shortly enough I'll get to making some stuff out of it for the front license plinth areas for the Elise and Exige as well.

(and again my camera phone isn't worth half a crap. Without even a flash though you can see the gloss on this. The twill looks good in person though)

A customer ordered Ronin badges in the past for a group of people having superchargers installed. I don't quite remember what they were like, I think a variation of the Lotus Sport logo.

But I can custom make anything you want. I would imagine the word "supercharged" would do the trick out of some kind of cool font. Give me some feedback on what styles of fonts you like, the size, material, etc.

how about using these for the gas cap door? It would be cool to have a CF gas cap door - no one makes it.

yeah, or even the "S" on the sides of the Exige S.

It would be cool to have the gas lid engraved - with a custom logo.

Holmz: I have absolutely no idea what that is supposed to mean, but I have a feeling I probably don't need to.

Shay2nak: The gas cap door is a good idea. Perhaps if I have time tomorrow I'll try that out.

Spats are something that used to worn over shoes ~100 years ago.
Not sure exactly why.
They were often white and the shoes black - which looked very stylish.
I guess they are a dress gaiter - if you know what gaiters are.

But they don't improve the looks of a pig.
I reminds me of airbrushing a wing on the back of a car - it won't add the downforce of a real wing - but looks the part.
(I guess it is a Bauhaus thing - form follows function)

I can't find a gas cap door on my car either.

Oh, Ok gotcha. But if you are going to race #'s on your doors for the track why not have carbon fiber ones? (or at least have the option) That's what I'm doing with this. Making graphics.

Hey Sweet Daddy! I'll second that for Door Sill Covers! In your opinion, would you be able to do that, how would it look, and how scuff resistant is that stuff??? Please, let us know....................

I want carbon fiber door sill covers big time as well. Been kicking around trying to make some molds to make them, but simply just don't have the time right now.

This is really only a vinyl film. I don't think it would work well enough to cover the entire sill. Especially in the spot where it curves up and around at the same time, I think it would be impossible to wrap without wrinkles there. This is not a highly conformable film. Perhaps I'll experiment with it later but at this time I don't think it will be a great solution. JMHO.

Anyone that want that just let me know. I can do them for $25.

Didn't get a chance to try and get the gas door cover fit. I worked on vinyl from the time I got up till the time I went to bed last night and still fell 2 jobs short of getting finished.
