I have a number of paid for jobs I need to get out first but once I get them knocked out I'll work on mocking something up. I might just make them and if you don't want them I'll pop them on here the same way and see if anyone does. I'll see how energetic I am and how little sleep I need. lol. I need to get photos of different designs anyway in case I decide to put together a website for this type of work.
Sounds great.

Number 111
Class XP

I will wait to see what you can do.

Sweet Daddy..I likey. Do you have any any ideas for a Saffron Yellow Car (I'm not very right brained-ie creative)? I don't have permanent numbers yet, but I like that retro 60's look and material used. They would probably be 3 digit, and 111 is already taken. thanks Jeff.

If you are looking for interesting fonts, when I found out they were discontinuing transfer letters, I bought all in my city.
I have a lot of very sixties fonts.
I don't know how many have been offered in software, but I suspect not many.

Lancia: I have several thousand fonts that I can scale to any size and make from just about any color. And there are tens of thousands of new ones that aren't hard to import, so I think I'm covered but thank you.

BRGM, a basic gumball is the most common and there are a million ways to make it look good. But there is no reason to be limited to that either, it's just a nice classic style. On SY we could do anything from as plain as a white circle/black number, or anything you want. Neutral colors such as silver, grey, black, or any jazzed up variation of them will of course work. You can do gloss black, matte black, reflective black, ultra metallic black (like a bass boat) You and do ultra metallic silver, chrome, brushed aluminum, reflective white. We could try a more subtle effect with maybe a boldening outline of black, red, chrome, etc and a number or gumball with negative number of gold, florescent yellow, reflective yellow..... We can try holographic diamondplate, white pearlescent, gold or siver leaf, pearlescent purple, or a lotus theme with dark green on yellow might look good......

I like all the examples that you've done, but I think I'm also going to need a design or something that will really emphasize the number chosen, so the event organizers won't have any issue with it either. If the numbering was in SY, then I would probably need something that would greatly contrast that color so it could be seen.
tnx.

Simple, classic, bold, and easily legible is certainly no problem. Below are a few more recent examples of ET members cars I'm done graphics for in simple bold styles. I've just been having more fun with some new materials lately, and it's cool to find people who don't mind a funkier flavor.

I like the shield this member asked me to make.

So no problem. But those that want more a funky fresh flavor, (as well as the original 69 pictured) hit me up at well! I'm in the mood to work with some of these weird films.

I like the 69 type numbering as well as Chris' car (the red one), might consider a green background like Jefferson's but not do the heritage thing.

Let me find out what permanent numbers are available and I'll get back to you..jeff

All of the typography I have is pro grade from Letraset, most dated 1970.
When I first inquired about software for some of the more stylized type I was interested in, I was told that those had subtle changes to each letter to make them look right and would require separate software for each letter and number unlike simpler typography, which used slight changes to a formula.
The one I asked about has since been made available, but they told me many of the more stylized fonts that had individual style for each letter would never be made available in software, due to cost.
Of course, even then adobe could be used to copy each individual letter, if you could find a master to copy.

Perhaps this has changed and it has become easier to transfer?
I am still glad to have physical copy for paste up.
I literally bought out the local supplier for Letraset.

I'm not exactly sure what letraset is. I think i have an idea though. Similar intent /results, different material. I would be hesitant to rely on the adhesion (and lack of paint damage) with a 37 year old adhesive, but I have no doubts you probably got your hands on some cool styles.

Just like you mentioned that you bought them out, yep, things have changed. Self adhesive vinyl can be sourced in very high quality now with exceptional gloss and very long term outdoor durability (the best having a continuous outdoor rating of 10 years) As well as neat finishes like metallics, etched glass, and several of the examples shown and mentioned above. Most standard vinyls come with an application tape on top to keep the design or letters registered. You peel off the coated paper backing to expose the sticky side, rub the graphic down (hopefully with a squeegee, which I'll be happy to supply) and then peel the application tape of the top and throw it away, leaving just the individually cut graphic/letters all lined up.

Most of the examples shown in this thread are on a static cling type film. So you just peel them off, squeegee or roll them down (I prefer to also use a mist of spray detailer or water underneath and then squeegee or roll it out). The nice thing about these is then you can peel them off when done with your event, store them, and re-use them the next time.

Though I have a few of the other style, these are photographic grade flat black letters accurate enough to be blown up considerably.
I only meant them as a source for the typography.
They are far too valuable now to use on a car.
The copyright dates don't necessarily mean they are all old manufacture.

Letraset is the designer and owner of most of the typography.
I think most adobe typeface is sourced from them.

Some of them are quite unusual.
They are often called rub on lettering or transfers.
Most of what I have is too small to use on a car though I have seen it done as a detailing approach.
The larger size sheets don't last long, so I have few of those.

I missed your thoughtful keystrokes. Was having separation anxiety. It puts a smile on my face to finally see your avatar on the screen again.

Are you getting some sixty nine from Sweet Daddy Delicious too? I think it will be pretty sweet.

Hey Sweet Daddy, It's ol' 66. Give me those permanent numbers and I'm ready to go! Got tired of stripping the numbers off every track day. Have Saffron Yellow? Paint sample is online.
Thanks
Loki

Plus I have four new hooked guys.
