Fox Valley Motorcars (West Chicago)

I feel the need to post re: FVM

My first contact with them was a couple of weeks ago. I spent most of the day with them (Anthony, Bill, Bill Jr.) test driving several Elises and two Exiges. At no time did I feel the slightest hint of pressure to purchase anything. In fact, they made me feel at home. (Is that really possible in a sales-environment? Yes.)

At the end of the day I ended up buying a Starlight Black Exige, but unfortunately it was snowing by then. They arranged delivery to Wisconsin, which happened shortly after that day. The delivery guy was careful and knowledgable (he has a poster of his SCCA autocross car right in the enclosed trailer! A real enthusiast...)

There were a couple of little problems (owner's manual, etc.) that the guys at FVM took care of *instantly*. John N. in the service department was on the ball w/ the deliveries, and really takes the time to talk to me when I call in.

Anthony was my sales-guy, this kid is laid back and knowledgable. Very easy to deal with. His brother Bill Jr. is a wealth of knowledge and friendly too. His Lotus was pulled apart in the shop (I believe he is doing all of the work) to prep the car for race season.

Bill Sr. is also great, he reminds me of my Sicilian relatives (hey! in a GOOD way!) lol! He's got passion for these cars!

What a great experience. Could I have saved a few bucks by purchasing my car on the Internet? Maybe. But I wouldn't trade the experience. These guys are intelligent. These guys are responsive. These guys are passionate.

I couldn't have been more pleased.

Thomas

And, based on my experience, that excellent service and commitment carries over to the Parts Department as well.

I couldn't be happier with Thom and John who handle orders quickly and professionally.

I had a good experience with Fox Valley also. Unfortunately my salesman, Mike Wogronic, is no longer with them. Whenever I went there, I was treated great. Now that he's gone no one really knows me and I'm just another person off the street to them. I guess I'll have to buy another car from them.

I've purchased an Elise and an Exige from them. Both very positive experiences. They even mailed my "Journey's Greatest Hits" CD back to me when I left it in my trade in...Just wish they were closer to Indy.

+3 for Fox Valley. They have always been very helpful in all my dealings with them. I just wish they were located closer to me---the drive down there is a real bummer.

+3 for me too. I didn't buy my car there, but drive down for service. Drive sucks most of the way, but there are some spots on 355 that get movin' and it's worth it. Always have something interesting up on the lifts - Lotus w/ total carbon fiber body - you never know. And as a finishing touch all the chicks are cute!

That's true, dasmoofler, they always have cute chicks there. Anyway, I love going there too. Great service and always nice folks. They always have a bunch of cars to gawk at too. I spend time just walking around their parking lot and showroom each time I go, it never gets old. I just put in an order for a GUT front splitter through them and always feel confident with any install or service they do for me. Can't wait for them to get the carbon fiber stuff in. I saw some of the cool trim stuff they are doing too, take a look if you drop by.

If only that 15% discount was good for that gorgeous Nart Blue F355 you've got over there, I'd fly over in a minute! :-)

I also have had good experiences with FVMC sales, but have been disappointed with their service.

Bought my Elise there in '05. A/C did not work. Delivery check was supposed to confirm it working.

Made an appointment to have it fixed. Like most of us, an appointment means taking a day off work, etc. Got there, and the service dept told me that their A/C diagnostic tool was broken, so they could not work on my A/C. As my appointment was for A/C repair, I was disappointed that they let me come in for the appointment, instead of calling to reschedule.

At the follow-up appointment, they "fixed" the A/C, but it ceased working before I got back home.

I know that there are inherent problems with the A/C, but mine does not work at all. Not any cool air at all. But it's not the A/C that is the issue, it's the three times that FVMC should have fixed it, but didn't, that is my issue.

Sounds like you have a leak in your AC system, some red colored Freon should be used to find out where this leak is. I hope you have better luck this coming summer.
