Do you have any clue how bad your multiple threads make you and your dealership look? Its almost like you just heard that the "forums" existed and then you found out there was one just for lotus enthusiasts and you thought you hit the jackpot or something. We are happy that you found us but what you are doing is the equivalent of doing a cannonball into the middle of a pool full of people just chilling out and relaxing enjoying themselves...

Firstly i would say the majority of people on this forum already own a lotus, thus you coming in and condescendingly offering to answer all of our questions just makes you look like you have no idea what is going on and how this forum works. There are people on here who could run rings around you in terms of knowledge about the car and the brand.

Secondly your blatant attempts to SELL us a car we already own and love are just obnoxious, it again reveals your obliviousness to how this forum works and who participates in it.

Lastly as a salesperson myself i would like to offer you some advice social awareness goes a long way. You may think this is just a bunch of words typed out but there is a social aspect to every forum and each forum is different. You would do us and yourself a favor if before you came careening in here like a bull in a china shop you stopped took a breath and looked at how people conduct themselves here and try to emulate that.

As someone else here stated posting a single thread with your inventory and a quick note would be much more helpful to you than starting 10 different threads that are all veiled or not so veiled attempts to sell something.

My advice is politely ask the mods to delete all of your threads and start one new one, if i were you it would go something like this.

Hey guys, I know our dealership has got some bad reviews on the board before, but i just started here and i would like to try to win back your trust. We are working hard to build up customer loyalty again and that is why i was hired. Here is our current inventory and pricing on our new cars. If you have any questions or if you are local and want to drop by for a test drive or a chat give me a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx. I am working on getting the owner to become a sponsor of the board as i know how important this forum is to the lotus community. Please don't hesitate to call me or send me a PM if you need anything at all.

even that almost sounds to full on, but it would be a vast improvement.

Good luck.

Was wondering the same thing.

DaveR....keep up your enthusiasm, sell the hell out of these cars. If nobody were selling and buying new cars, there would be no used car market in which folks can 'steal' these cars. There would also be no dealer/service/parts network.

It's good to see some Lotus enthusiasm at Rothrock, long absent. I tried to buy my first Elise through Rothrock back when the 'line' existed. They played fast and loose with their lists, so I went elsewhere.

Based on your enthusiasm alone, I'd give you a shot were I in the market for a car. As it is, Dan at Criswell, who has also demonstrated much the same enthusiastic approach, captured my business for my last two cars, Criswell's general rep notwithstanding.

Welcome, You'll get your rhythm down here.

IMO, this is the effective approach to use. These are niche vehicles with very knowledgable owners.

I was with you on this one. No none likes being sold to. It is all contrived. Consultative sales beats ra ra ra sales any day.

Welcome. I would suggest becoming a board sponsor so you can have your site appear on the banners on top of the page. Just make sure your site is updated (some dealers are really bad with that).

Just by those two things alone, I think you should get some pretty good hits without doing much leg work. If you decide you want to have a sale, post on the "Lotus for Sale" forum and you'll get some hits. If you want an example how a "Sale" ad can shake things up, take a look at this thread:
1 NEEDS to go!!

Note, I believe it use to be 11 Need to Go.

I know your feelings are not hurt i was just kidding. And yes i too probably would have ignored it for at least the first 5 threads, once we hit 9 though i figured some advice might have been necessary.

I've had good experiences with Rothrock. I'm glad the guy is enthusiastic.

I doubt kaiynne would talk that way to the guys face if the he was standing in the dealership showroom. So what if he's trying to generate some business. It's his job. No need to berate him and tell him how so many of us know so much more about the cars blah blah blah.

Welcome, DaveR. I didn't mind the cannonball. I don't cry when I get splashed a little.

Is Shawn still doing your service work?

Really you doubt it? Based on what exactly? Trust me i speak my mind whether it is in person or online. I doubt you would make such a claim if you were standing face to face with me my friend. But hey whatever dude feel free cry about whatever you want.

Whatever. I'm not going to fight with you about it. I supposed this statement doesn't apply to you?

If you go off like that on people because you think they're the ones being inappropriate ... well, you may need some help. I'm sure your customers appreciate that level of social awareness.

I don't know. This site has attracted some d-bags lately (not saying that you're one of them). Someone just offer me $40k for my car & let me get the hell out of here. It's not as fun after nearly 4 years. Maybe it's fun to spout off as an authority if you, I don't know, joined up this summer.

Hey Rothrock, can you offer me $40k? I'll buy a new Suburban or something.

Do you seriously need this forum to enjoy the car? Or do you need the forum to sell the car? I can't figure out what your problem is exactly. You make it seem like you are desperate to get rid of your car because you don't like some people on the the internet. Surely that is not the case... Anyway the fact that dave actually took the advice of people on the forum and toned it down a bit is a good thing. Maybe if this just turned into a place where all of the dealers competed to out post each you would be happier. Good luck with your sale, hopefully no one tries to low ball you or anything because i can't imagine how you would cope.

It's good to see Arnie Johnson at LCU bring back some of the traditional good Lotus dealers, adding select new ones and exponging some of the less then stellar dealers.
