Special Rate on Elises at SoCal Enterprise

My company does a lot of work with Enterprise Rent a Car in Los Angeles. While speaking with my contact there this morning me mentioned that they're doing a special weekend rate on Elises this month. I suspect there are a lot of SoCal future Elise owners on ET who might enjoy having one for the weekend, so I thought I'd pass on the info.

Discounted weekend rate is $150.00/day and includes 100 miles a day.

Interested parties should contact

Yeah! Drive 'em now before Enterprise Rent a Car DESTROYS them!

But read the fine print 'cause that 3 foot hole on the bottom of the "rent a car" will be charged to you.

The Enterprise in Pasadena (Fair Oaks) use to have a silver and green Elise. I've been using Enterprise for a car rental since my wife's car was in an accident and I haven't seen the silver Elise in over 6 weeks! The green car is almost always there and has some crub rash on the front air dam.

I Googled 'crub rash' and got 662 hits.

Let's see if that's the one they give me. I'm picking one up from them tomorrow morning.

Can you ask them what happened to the Artic Silver Elise? I didn't get a chance to ask them but looking at how cars back up and out in thier parking lot, I won't be surprised if it's in the body shop. (One of my first rentals was a 40K mile Ford Tarus and I won't have backed up into the green Elise if I wasn't aware of how small they are.)

No they are not.

Wouldn't do you much good unless you also swapped the pedal assembly and the throttle (need to switch to the DBW setup) - probably the only real difference between the '05 and the '06 ECUs.

The one I rented before I bought, was pretty trashed at 600 miles, major front end damage ( that I made a big point of noting on the contract) and the clutch and brakes were toast, big gouges out of the door bottoms and side rear as well. I don't think there are going to be too many Elises for rent much longer than a year or so. People generally abuse rental cars , in that they don't care about bottoming out, over reving the engine, burning the clutch, usually its a who cares its not my car attitude. I would think that combined with some of the unique characteritsics of the Elise , low clearance, limited visibility, non power steering, hard to see from an suv etc the rental companies are going to be losing money or racking up huge insurance claims. During the rental I almost got creamed by a dumb lady at a parking garage exit booth who was going to back up because she forgot her parking ticket, being unexperienced I had pulled right up on her tail, she absolutely could not see me. I had to stand up and yell at her, luckily the top was off !

It's the wrong car to rent. Enjoy 'em while they still run.

Then they can go back to renting Fords like they're soooo good at.

I would like to rent an Elise in either Orange County or LA. Does anyone have the current pricing and the address of the rental company? Thanks!

I think that $150 is an awesome price for a seat upgrade, and if you can get the LED tails thrown in its even more worthwile. You may think that I am kidding but I am not.

I know. After all, do you think the renters are going to enjoy the Probax seats or LEDs lights? No, they'll be too busy trashing the car.

There is an enterprise rental place in Newport Beach on Pacific Coast Highway near the BMW dealer that rents Elises. Occasionally they have one sitting out front. I don't know the exact address or phone #, but you should be able to easily get that from Enterprise or directory assistance.

might have to drive to L.A. for that rate, I called the Santa Barbara enterprise and they want $220 a day for it

Currently renting their Blue one Tuesday but for that price difference I might drive to L.A. and cancel.
