Talking Texas dealerships

For all you texas owners, can I have some feedback on you service experience . I bought my car from Lotus of Austin and they went belly up.

I am 3 hours from San Antonio, 4 form Ft. Worth and almost 5 from Dallas.

Who do you recommend? I appreciate your feedback.

FWIW, the tech from Lotus of Austin is now in Houston (Star Motor Cars) but don't know the distance from where you are.

The guys in Dallas (Overseas Motors) are very good and I hear that San Antonio is good as well.

The tech from the original Lotus of Austin (on Lamar) is still here. Not sure if he would be interested in doing side work but you can email him (can give you his info). If not you have the folks at SouldSpeed as well. Good guys.

Yeah, try Soulspeed first. Jasper is a good guy (and member of this board).

Service

If it's still under warranty, take it to San Antonio. I had mine worked on there and they fixed an oil leak finally that Lotus of Austin did not. Ask for Joe Stubblefield. Just an awsome place to work with. Hope this helps.

I've had several warranty issues taken care of at Lotus of San Antonio and can highly recommend them. The service number is (210) 828-0077.

I'm in Houston but drove to SA for my 15k service. Was cheaper and they were more considerate of my time.

The drive there and back plus the time to do the 15k service was faster than Star could change out my washer tank under warranty on an appointment day and time of their own choosing.

Now if you are looking to buy new... Tim is the man to talk to at Star!

Just for giggles, in the morning call the three dealerships and ask their price for the 7,500 maint. If you haven't had the yearly brake fluid flush make sure to either tell them you need it, or that you did it yourself. It affects the price.

Always make sure you flush those brakes once a year, warranty claims on brake systems will be voided by Lotus Corp. $700 mistake for me not having it in writing that it was done. Long story...

Joe runs a good ship in San Antonio. I take my car there for all warranty work.

For non-warranty work in Austin, contact Jasper at SoulSpeed in Austin (512-832-1800). Jasper worked as the service manager at Lotus of Austin before the dealership was sold. Both Colin and Jenson (the tech team) have worked on many Lotus cars.
