Not an hour ago left Criswell having gotten my car serviced...you don't know how tempted I was to come over to the show room and take a close look at the Canyon Red. Fought the temptation, and now that I'm home I'm glad I don't have a payment book.

And you know I'm really interested in the Canyon Red Exige also but for now, have the following barriers:

1) I'm Recouping the $3K loss in selling the Ducati last month (should be done by August)
2) Shipping costs
3) Waiting for some "help" from Lotus.

Otherwise, I'd be all over the Exige.

Well I never bought an out-of-state car and thinking about buying a car without seeing it, having to worry about how to ship it back safely, as well as what exactly needs to be done to register it (is it complicated ?) is kind of intimidating compared to buying in CA. Pascal, I can't help you with the shipping issue but I do know it's about $2,000 for enclosed shipping and maybe Dan can help you on that.

But in terms of buying an out-of-state vehicle in California, the out of state vehicle must be "50-State/California Certified" and when I e-mailed Dan, he said it was. This may give you more information:

Before Buying a Vehicle From Out of State—Be Sure You Can Register It in California (FFVR 29)

In terms of buying a vehicle site-unseen, Dan, I'd sugguest taking and sending pictures of each corner right before it's load on the car carrier. That way, if anything happen during transport, you'd be covered and everyone would know who was responsible for the damage.

I had the same thoughts, I never drove the car and I never saw the car in person.
It was $950 to get the car to Kansas City, it came in an enclosed trailer without any problems at all.
Dan took care of all my paperwork that I needed for MO. without any issues.
