I have read some misleading comments online about how the matte paint is hard to take care of (comments from people who haven't owned one) so I'm providing some useful information to anyone interested. To be honest the matte paint is easy to take care of because you don't have to worry about swirl marks, wax, or buffing. Just like any other paint, there are special products to use. After many miles of use I haven't had any issues with the paint, and instead of washing the car like I normally would on a car with clear-coat, it takes 15 minutes to wipe down with 2 microfibers and you don't have to worry about scratching the paint! This is hands down the easiest black car I have ever owned!

Here is some good reading on matte paint care if anyone is interested as well as a few products available on the market:

For anyone considering buying this and worried about the matte paint care - my experience has been great. My paint is perfect after more than two years of driving and several track outings. I have quite a bit more mileage than the OP, and although was concerned after some forum members gave warnings (who in hindsight didn't ever actually own a matte car) I've had no challenges keeping it looking like new.

Seeing it in person is incredible, I get nothing but positive comments every time I drive it. It's been the star of every car show its been in - and gets more positive attention than I expected.

If I didn't already own one, I'd buy it. .

Just curious, since the matte cars lack a clear bra ( I assume), how well do stone chip touchups blend into the finish?

SDD makes a clear bra from X-Pel Stealth film (for matte cars) but I haven't noticed any pitting or chips, no track use. If I were to track the car I would put a clear bra on it. For long road trips or high speed runs I use this (ghetto starshield):

General Brand Black Masking Tape 1 in. x 60 yd.: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific General Brand Black Masking Tape 1 in. x 60 yd.: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Thanks. You might want to try black gaffers tape. 2" wide cloth, more expensive but likely more protection. Uses a petrol based adhesive and doesn't leave residue. You'd have to test a spot somewhere unobtrusive but I think it would work fine. We use it on race cars without probs ( I crew with a USF2000 / SCCA team).

A lot of people don't know that this car (and all final edition's) have the track pack brace, lotus sport adjustable sway bar, harness bar, limited slip diff, and variable TC.
