2008 Limited Edition Exige Club Racer and Elise California Available Now

Lotus of Greenwich and Hunting Ridge Motors are proud to announce two very special, limited production models from Lotus for 2008; the Exige Club Racer and the Elise California. These vehicles feature exclusive content and design elements not available in the standard production cars. Production for North America will be limited to 20 Exige Club Racer and 50 California Spec Elise.

2008 Lotus Exige Club Racer Limited Edition

Lotus Cars USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the limited edition Club Racer for the 2008 Model Year. This vehicle offers a new inspired, exterior and interior trim package along with mechanical upgrades designed with the "Track Day" enthusiast in mind although permitting the use on the road as this is a street legal vehicle. This limited edition will be offered in the very limited quantity of just 20 units in the United States.

These vehicles are featured in Club Racer Blue, with contrasting black center tri-stripes. The interior boasts plush Microfibre throughout the seating and door panels of the cockpit.

This exclusive vehicle showcases significant value upgrades to both the trim and bodywork and is designed to appeal directly to the lifestyle market. This special edition will initially be offered in a limited quantity of just 50 units worldwide -- Twenty-five of which will be offered in Saffron Yellow and twenty-five in Ardent Red. Each color scheme provides an upgraded interior with two-tone plush leather hides adorned throughout.

I've got to say that I think Lotus made a big mistake with the California. With that light of an interior on the top of the dash, there is going to be an incredible amount of glare on the windshield.

Are these the same brakes as the new '08 Exige 240?

The Club Racer is a 220HP intercooled Exige. My understanding is that they have the AP Racing brake system from the S 240 and Cup Car. I can double check that tomorrow for you.

what about the vents on top of the hood and on the back?

can you order the side vents, top and bank vents, grill for other cars in other colors?

Definitely the AP Brakes from the S 240

It is painted silver

Both are body colored.

No but we can customize them that way if you would like.

The alum. hat is different between the original big brake kit and the '08 version allowing for use of the Exige forged wheels and the smaller '08 6" wide forged wheels, which I think is a big plus. Also, '08 cars equipped with this Big Brake Kit will come with longer lug bolts as well.

Trying to understand the differences between the Exige 240 and Club Racer. Is it lighter or simply a cosmetic difference and brake upgrade to the '07? Is that same blue color an option on the other '08 cars?

Do you know if the Cub Racer comes with the racing harnesses for subsequent intallation? The car at the LA Auto Show had a Schroth harness box in the boot.
