thanks for the clarification! obviously i'm not a turbo guy.

btw, how is the noble's handling compared to an elise or exige?

MikeP could give a more current answer since he tracks both his Elise and his M400 regularly. But I did drive an Elise a few years back at a Hethel performance driving day in the UK, and, while it was fun, the Elise is definitely not a Noble. Between the understeer and the lack of power/torque, the Elise is harder to drive than the Noble near "the limit" IMO. Part of it is the Noble has a longer wheelbase, more track and a lot more rubber on the ground so it feels really planted and very user-friendly on the track. At the same time, it's a comfortable car for an occasional road trip--as long as you don't need to carry much gear .

I think this is funny...

The car is going back to Farnbacher Loles in Connecticut to get some tweakage.

DEAR GOD here it starts.

Been talking to some racing guys and what this car can do when modified, is totally crazy. Stuff like entering the straight at Daytona ar 186mph... 630 WHEEL HP...holy crap.

I have some custom rims on order and will be putting some fatter Hoosiers all around.

Farnbacher Loles is close to me, I thought they were only porsche? I know they make their own Cayman GTR which looks amazing. I wonder if they do Lotus work?

I know they are top-shelf, better have some more of that website-sale-money handy!

Yes, the Noble is definitely more planted at speed. Besides the longer wheel base and larger tires, the power assisted steering and greater weight contribute to this. The power assist "stabilizes" the steering compared with that of the Elise, while retaining road feel. I'm probably not using the right term to describe this, but the Noble's steering is "crisper" than that of the Elise. You just think about turning and, if you want it to, the car will just leap in that direction without effort. In the Elise you need to put a bit of arm in those tight turns. My arms actually get a little tired on the tight section at Reno-Fernley after a few laps in the Elise. When you add in the acceleration and non-ABS brakes, the Noble has an immediacy to it that even the Elise can't match. Still, I find the Noble more difficult to drive on track because of that immediacy. I'm working on it, but at this point it's easier for me to drive the Elise smoothly on track.

So a funny thing happened today. I had a guy that was working at Lime Rock for Grand Am come down to tune the Noble today. They get it on the dyno and do a baseline pull and it was over 400 pounds of torque and 418 WHEEL HP. The guy says " that is not right, that is too high for stock." After some head scratching and phone calls, they realize the car was already tuned by the same tuner a year ago in Virginia.

Anyway... they are working on making more torque down low and improving driveability for the street and providing a dual map so I can switch it..

This car is going to be insane.

You might want to check out this thread to get a better feel for what's possible:
Power tuning - Noble Rossion Forums
Seems like both your HP and torque numbers are pretty modest right now .
BTW, AFAIK the stock MBE ECU cannot store multiple maps.

Shrug? Troy said he can load two maps. I don't know.

But good news and bad news. Troy just called to say he can get 500wheelhp easy out of this car. But he will not because there is something wrong causing the fuel pressure to be too high causing it to run rich. Possibly we may be getting fuel wash on the cylinders. But his bigger concern is if what ever is causing the high fuel pressure should fix itself on its own, then his tune would cause the car to run very lean.

They are still looking at the car. Troy said he has never seen fuel pressures like this before.

also noted I needed a larger intercooler.
