15/16 SSR Competition Type C Rims and Toyo R888 Tires
In the spirit of selling, I am also offering my 15/16 SSR comp type C rims and brand new Toyo R888 tires. The two rear rims (16x7) are brand new in the box. The front ones (15x6.5) are used but in great shape. The rear rims weigh 11 lb each, and the front rims weigh 8.5 lb each.
I also have matching 4 brand new Toyo R888 tires. Never mounted. The rears are 225-45-16 and fronts are 205-50-15. I am asking $725 shipped for the rims and $625 shipped for the tires. Last edited by Mr. Know : 10-12-2008 at 08:19 PM. Reason: resized attachments |

higher mileage tires
I don't know where to go with this question. Is there a higher mileage tire available for the Elise without sacrificing all performance? I have had my car for 4 years now. I have only tracked it once and have gone through 5 sets of rear tires and one set on thr front in 30000 miles. I am on a budget now and need to stretch the life of the tires. I don't drop the clutch or ever get wheel spin. Thanks.

I always wanted those on my previous car.
May I ask what the offsets are?

I am using those wheel for track on my car.
The rear wheel fit easily, but a spacer of 3/8 is welcome, but for that, the bolt need to be longer. For the front, it is a little bit more complicated. To install the wheel, the spacer will need to be quite thick, I guess around 3/4. I am running with 3/8 spacer, but I machined the wheel inside to not have an extra wide front, with the risk of the tire touching the fender. My front caliper are at approximatively 1/16 max from the wheel. Now, I have a set of modified one enlarge at 8.25 instead than 7. 8.25 is too wide, 8 should be the limit with 16 inches wheel. At 8.25, you really need heavy spring like Nitron Pro to limit the wheel travel in order to avoid contact between wheel rib with the lower wishbone. This is true for 8.25 wheel, but not a trouble at all with stock 7 inches wide. The longer bolt can be purchased at Chrome Lugbolts for BMW, M12 x 35mm - 60mm: Bekkers BMW & Mercedes Parts

elise/europa, i'm a little confused by your post... i see these rims are et38 and stock LSS are et31 on the fronts... same width for both for the fronts, so i can see you need maybe 7mm spacer which is about 1/4" inch, but you mention needing 3/4" spacer? Can you give a little more explanation?
On rear rims offset is same for LSS and these wheels... but the width is .5" narrower for these rims... as i understand it your problem here is only because you have widened the rims so the stock rims. DO these rims use the Lotus wheel bolts or different bolts? Are bolts included if they aren't the same as LSS bolts? also, is the "SSR" and "Competition" stickers that can be removed or are the under the paint? Update
OK, the tires are on the rims, nice and blanaced.
First, I checked and the offset if actually 42 mm and not 38 mm as I thought. I test fitted the wheels this morning, and here are the results: Consistent with what was said above, the rears fit nicely, but you can add a thin spacer if you want. The front do need spacers, not sure if 3/8 or 3/4. They look cool and ready to go. Very light! I will post more pics tomorrow. |

I was off line for few days.
The reason for the required spacer at the front is not caused by the offset, but by the deep of the spoke. Since the front brake are using opposed type caliper, it take a lot of room to clear it. Like I said, not certain about the required spacer requirement, but for sure, more than 3/8 since I am using 3/8 on my car with modified (machined) rim. I have access to a lathe to machine the wheel myself. But for stock wheel, the spacer will be between 1/2 to 3/4. And of course, longer bolt will be required, and you don't have the choice, you need to buy it. But the wheel look good, the choice of tire is great, and the wheel price are cheap.
