thanks.
soft, it also acts like a gasket.. yes semi flexiable.

I did not have issues with seating.. I also do not see any pegs..

I can also get larger Upper airboxes as well.. but those are VERY expensive.. no worries about an adapter on those.. they are about 400$ for those (upper and lower) not including the filter either..

the white filter in the middle.. its a filter that is supposed to help contain fuel vapors in the engine vs coming out into the atmosphere..

emissions type of thing.. completely removable

ah! now it makes sense...the pegs hold the HC in place and as it does, the pegs are flush with the air filter (not interrupting it's fitment). Since I don't have the HC, I can file these pegs down, or i can get a some cardboard and make a surround to fit over and around the pegs.

Only difference between the two, is that the filter will sit several mm higher with the HC (or cardboard solution) than if I were to file the pegs down. So I will have to see how thick the gasket on the air filter is if to see which solution will allow for the best fit of the filter.

obviously with all the extra parts you have, you've ordered this from TRD. I wonder why lotus left out the HC (peg issue) and the duct. It would be nice to at least have the duct. How much for just that part, you know?

Ara the TRD filter doesn't sit down where the pegs are at, it sits one step higher.

Randy, He's selling just the lower box. Do I need the larger upper box as well to see gains? What setup were you using?

this is the same setup randy had.. With the larger upperbox there maybe more gains.. I've seen the larger upper box and its huge compared to the stock.. Fitment should be okay, but not confirmed..

that is correct. So I don't even need the recessed step. I mean because it's for that HC filter, you could dremel that whole recessed perimeter out and get some more surface area available for the air filter. The thing is I bought the green filter for this box and it's not as thick as the stock or TRD air filter. It's like half the thickness. I don't know if I posted pics of the stock cup filter and the green filter. I should get them out of my cell.

actually, the stock filter and the green filter were both having problems fitting properly because of that damn recessed portion with the pegs...
