No, I had not seen that. Looks cool! I'll be interested to see more of what the onboard OS looks like since it is on ARM architecture. My last project was ARM based, so this could be interesting. However, this hardware isn't yet available to work on, doesn't have OBD2 interface, doesn't have an integrated display or backup power, nor are there mature hardware/software modules/apps for it. I think I can do all of it and more with existing hardware, in a smaller footprint, with more processing power/features, and get the display and cameras integrated into it. It is however worth giving a look when it comes to fruition, but this android-based solution should be ready before theirs finishes getting their funding together. We'll see!

Prototype v3 underway. Dex cache for licensed android apps are successful, decompiling a few of the APKs to extract intent entry points from the manifests.

PLX Kiwi working great. Will test mating to Escort 8500 next week, and potentially test mating to laser jammer if there is interest in a display/detector/jammer combination (not legal in CA). Remote start is viable, a safe remote disable is unknown at this time.

A friend fuzzed the obd2 port and found some hidden diagnostics modes in toyota ECUs that have the brakes disabled, presumably for course testing. Will have to do more indepth testing on lotus ecus. Will be working on custom serial bus interface for OBD2 analysis.

iMFD for android may require some custom coding. the PLX Kiwi wifi does have an iMFD addon, but there is no android support yet for it, but I've contacted PLX for more information.

Prototype v3 has been upgraded to new Cyanogenmod 10 OS. ELM architecture working great so far, will be investigating custom bus/reflash protocols when Hackish gets his project together. The new 7" display is perfect. Anyone interested in being able to issue voice commands? Anyone interested in integration into your escort/v1 radar detector, and/or laser jammer? Will be designing custom gauge interface, I could use some inputs on what data users want to see.

If you can include a RCA video output + setup for different resolution. You know what I mean:
- A lot of stereo deck has LCD screen in single din or double din
- So if you can have RCA video output, then you can hide away the main unit and just feed the video signal to the existing stereo deck for display only.
- Then all cars can have the important date display on their stereo or other LCD display with the main unit hide away. Like GTR

If you are wanting a device with video out to another display, i don't have to do a 7" tablet as the process device, it can be done with something much smaller and provide HDMI output. Totally doable.

Alternatively, an uglier method would be to have the device act as a VLC server and have a receiving dongle that acted as client and decoded to rca output. But either is possible.

7" Tablet is good, plus a RCA output. So whoever has a LED or LCD stereo desk can hide away the main unit and use their stereo desk as display.

No HDMI, unless stereo desk has HMDI input.

I have an escort 9500ci in my car, what would integrating this to it do for me?

Keep in mind that I am about as stupid as they come in regards to tech and computers. My phone is like 4 years old and does not even go online!!!!

Could this thing do lateral G read outs? I would like to see a real time read out as well as a graph showing what I have been up to. Maybe a programable audio beep as you get up to the limit of traction?

Would be cool if it would hold songs that I could play thru the radio as well

Yes, built in inclinometer for logging/displaying pitch and roll, as well as skid pad for lateral and forward G measurements.

VC would be nice, but perhaps difficult with the ambient noise level in these cars?
Integration with V1 and Laser Interceptor jammers would be nice.
Waze integration
Motion-detect camera trigger would be a desirable security feature, with low voltage detection so battery doesn't drain (of course depending on how cameras are powered)

voice command: can be done, it just takes some audio processing. car noises don't sound like human voices, so pass filtering can grab most of it. we'll see what is easy to put together if any components already exist out there, and how much processing overhead it will take.

Valentine1 integration: no problem, but it requires the user already have a V1BlueShark sensor system installed or a V1 with ESP. If there is enough demand, we could write a custom overlay app for V1 ESP bluetooth connections, as V1Connect looks like dog$hit and takes up the whole screen assuming you have nothing else to do with your display.

Waze navigation: i'll take a look, but i think something like that would require internet uplink, and wifi will already be in use by the OBD2 & iMFD channels. What we're going to look for is a system that lets you download extensive map databases for regions so these can be preloaded with something like the entire US or select state by state. If we can pre-cache that data from Waze, so be it. More investigation needed.

full android tablet computer. the display is the computer is the display. at least for this model
