Hi Chris and those who are interested,

Yeah I saw this yesterday. If this is happening I will pay to be a sponsor again. I currently have nothing in stock, not even a covering plate. We need to gather at least 30 orders to run this batch so yeah, I'll keep an eye on it while someone helping me with the head count. Regarding to the color, it is doable. Maybe we can talk to Chuck Risen, he's the guy who can paint anything with the most accurate Lotus factory color. If this is happening, I'll talk to him and see if we can collaborate and work out a deal for everyone. Thanks to Niral for putting this up.

here are the links from our last 2 group buys (while i was a sponsor back then):
1. [For Sale] CNC Lotus Unikeys are back!

2. [Last batch on Lotustalk] CNC Unikey & -Special Edition- Unikey

If this is happening, i'll sign up to be a sponsor again and answer all the questions. As of now, i don't think i'm allowed to say much. Hope you understand, it's quite strict here on lotustalk.

I was just going to post some rough dimensions since it was asked, but I think the previous link gives a good mental idea for the size of this product.

Chuck is doing a some work for me right now (his subwoofer enclosures and audio setup are amazing--Lotus should be putting them in a "Touring" package or something), and is practically a materials expert among other things. He would surely have some good input in type of plastic and processes, and see how he feels about painting the plastic and putting two screws heads on it. If he's going to do some work, he wouln't have it falling apart...and most peoples keys/fobs take some share of abuse...
I hope we dont have to "Starshield" these..lol. I know Chuck won't like my suggestion of Scotch tape..hey it's 3M right? (sorry Chuck, if you are reading this--you can give me the Tim Mullen "Touring" whack)

A switchblade concept sounds interesting...which is of course a proposal for a future design/tooling etc. I'm guessing there would have to be some amassed interest for it to be worth someones while to produce it at a price we would pay--but that's why I put this feeler out. I bet if there were a nice design, a lot of people would like one--not sure what something like that would cost. If you take an existing switchblade (which some have done and modified), and make a new stylish housing for it like the present unikey has...maybe it could work. Apart from that, it looks like some want slightly smaller ones and various colors. Once we show enough of us have interest in having a unikey, we could probably talk details and hopefully come up with something that satisfies everyone...hopefully.

Glad to see the interest and inputs brewing... Hopefully more keeps on coming. Thanks everyone.

Which alarm piece do they take?
I have a cobra job that is about 1: in diameter with a flat spot on one side...

(The flip key that I loved, just broke when I went to turn it on, and it was already rotated all the way to begin with, so I had a sprint and a button and broken plastic in hand after that one.)

I have see. The unikey in person
And the design of the housing size wise and looks is great bug once you add the key it gets way to big.
That's why a switchblade unlikely would be the best and would keep the size down.

I'm sure a whole bunch of people would buy those. I would buy two

BTW...I agree, A "switch-blade" would be way more functional and desirable.

I would like in on this. I do not really care about color, to be honest. You can give me something someone else doesn't want...LOL. This is the $159 Regular Edition, right?
Sorry...I will need to edit my reply with the blank code after I get home and look. These are pretty cool, although I would agree that there seems to be room to reduce the overall size a bit and still fit the guts in. I should take my spare apart and solid model one up myself just to see.
